MIDI devices
When the VS-2000 is the master, your MIDI sequencer doesn’t sync with it

Is the MIDI cable connected correctly?

Could the MIDI cable be broken?

In the MIDI Parameter screen, could “MIDI OUT/THRU” be set to “Out”?
❍
In the Sync Parameter screen, is “MIDI OUT SYNC Gen.” selected correctly?

Could the EXT SYNC indicator be blinking?

The Sync Parameter screen’s “SYNC MODE” is set to “EXT.”
If you want the VS-2000 to operate as the master, set this to “INT.”

Are the two devices using different types of MTC?

In order to synchronize via MTC, the VS-2000 and your MIDI sequencer must be set to use the same type of
MTC.The VS-2000’s MTC is specified by the Sync Parameter screen’s “FRAME RATE” setting.

Is MIDI clock data recorded in the sync track?

If you want to use the sync track to synchronize the operation, you must first record MIDI clock data in the
sync track.

Could the settings in your MIDI sequencer be incorrect?
❍
Is your MIDI sequencer in playback-ready mode?
The VS-2000 doesn’t sync with a MIDI sequencer when it’s the master

Is the MIDI cable connected correctly?

Could the MIDI cable be broken?

Are you attempting to sync to MIDI Clock?

The VS-2000 can operate as a slave only to MTC.

Could the EXT SYNC indicator be dark?

The Sync Parameter screen’s “SYNC MODE” is set to “INT.”
If you want the VS-2000 to operate as the master, set this to “EXT.”

Are the two devices using different types of MTC?

In order to synchronize via MTC, the VS-2000 and your MIDI sequencer must be set to use the same type of

Could your MIDI sequencer be set inappropriately?

Is the VS-2000 in playback-ready mode ([PLAY] blinking)?

The incoming MTC may be of poor quality.

In the Sync Parameter screen, try setting the “ERROR LEVEL” to 5 or higher. This may help.
Other
Buttons don’t work, or work in unexpected ways

Could the System Parameter <1/3> screen’s “SHIFT LOCK” be turned “On”?

If shift lock is on, pressing [SHIFT] will turn the shift button on (lit), and the state of [SHIFT] being held will
be maintained. In this state, only buttons that work in conjunction with [SHIFT] will function. Press [SHIFT]
once again to turn the shift button off (unlit).
