11. With Hand Brake on,
Switch
Activating
Button
(B) should be compressed
to
within
7 mm
of
Switch Body.
If incorrect, adjust as
follows:
(a) Loosen
bolt
(C) and adjust
Activating
Button
to
correct distance.
(b) Tighten
bolt
(C).
(c) Check operation
of
safety
interlock
system
(See
maintenance section headed I

Required to take up brake pad wear.
1.
Release
Hand Brake.
2. Using packing washers (G);See Fig. 12A, pack
out
brake pad assembly (C)
to
within
1 mm
of
Brake Disc.
3. Adjust
Nyloc
Nut
(A)
until
both
Brake pads
(E) are in contact
with
Brake Disc (F).
4. Back
off
adjusting
nut
(A)
two
turns, Fig. 12B
5. Check brake operation.
Required
to
take up transmission chain stretch.
1. Loosen rear guard assembly nuts
(A);
See
Fig. 13
two
per side.
2. Slide rear guard assembly
to
adjust chain
tension.
3. Re-tighten rear guard assembly nuts making
sure
of
rear axle alignment. (Distance
to
end
of
chassis
to
be equal).
4. Check chain tension approx.
7mm
drop
mid
span under medium hand pressure. Rotate
system by hand
to
check
for
tight
spots.
NOTE:
If
tight
spot is
found,
readjust chain
tension asspecified above.
5. Check adjustment
of
clutch/brake
pedal,
rear wheels brake.
INTERLOCK
SYSTEM
The safety I
nterlock
system has been designed
for
your
protection
and except
for
minor
adjustment
of
the
clutch
arm safety switch (See
CLUTCH/
BRAKE
PEDAL
ADJUSTMENT),
should
not
be
tampered
with.
It
gives
your
COLT
the
following
features
(a) The engine
will
not
start unless the
drive selector is in neutral, the
cutter
drive is disengaged and the Park Brake
is on
(b) The engine should stop
if
the
operator
leaves
the seat
with
the drive selector
or the
cutter
drive engaged.
If
interlock
system fails,
see
an authorised dealer.
Do
not
operate
until
fault
is corrected.
CAUTION:
Safety switch
circuit
may
become
defective
if
wet. Do
not
spray switch-
es and connections.
