What to do if there is a grease fire on my ROYAL GOURMET Griddle?
    • L
      Linda CollinsAug 19, 2025
If you're experiencing a grease fire or continuous excessive flames above the cooking surface of your ROYAL GOURMET Griddle, it's likely due to too much grease buildup in the burner area. To resolve this, turn off the LP tank, leave the lid open to allow flames to die down. After the unit cools, clean food particles and excess grease from inside the firebox area, grease cup/pan/tray, and other surfaces.

Why is my ROYAL GOURMET GB2000 flaring up?
    • R
      rossjohnAug 21, 2025
If your ROYAL GOURMET Griddle experiences a flare-up, it's often due to grease buildup, excessive fat in the meat, or excessive cooking temperature. To resolve this, clean the burners and the inside of the grill/firebox. Trim fat from meat before grilling and adjust (lower) the cooking temperature.

How to fix a ROYAL GOURMET GB2000 Griddle burner that won't light with the ignitor?
    • R
      rodriguezhannahAug 25, 2025
If the burner on your ROYAL GOURMET Griddle won't light using the ignitor, there could be several gas-related issues: trying to light the wrong burner, the burner not engaged with the control valve, an obstruction in the burner, no gas flow, a vapor lock at the coupling nut to the LP tank, or the coupling nut and LP tank valve not fully connected. Refer to the instructions on the control panel and in the Use and Care section. Ensure the valves are positioned inside the burner tubes and that the burner tubes are not obstructed. Make sure the LP tank isn't empty. If it's not empty, disconnect and reconnect the coupling nut from the LP tank. Turn the coupling nut approximately one-half to three-quarters.

Why won't the ignitor light the burner on my ROYAL GOURMET GB2000?
    • V
      vanessa37Aug 26, 2025
If the burner on your ROYAL GOURMET Griddle won't light using the ignitor, it might be due to electrical issues such as a cracked or broken electrode, the electrode tip not in the proper position, the wire and/or electrode covered with cooking residue, loose or disconnected wires, wires shorting between the ignitor and electrode, or the push button sticking. Replace the electrode if cracked. Ensure the electrode tip points toward the port hole in the burner at a distance of 1/8” to 3/16”. Clean the wire and/or electrode with rubbing alcohol. Reconnect wires or replace the electrode/wire assembly. Replace the ignitor wire, or the ignitor itself. Inspect wire insulation and proper connection; replace wires if insulation is broken.

    • D
      David WaltonAug 30, 2025
If flames blow out on your ROYAL GOURMET Griddle, it could be due to high or gusting winds, low LP gas, or a tripped excess flow valve. Turn the front of the grill to face the wind or increase the flame height. Refill the LP tank. Also, refer to the section on “sudden drop in gas flow”.

If you have a persistent grease fire on your ROYAL GOURMET Griddle, it's likely due to grease trapped by food buildup around the burner system. Turn the knobs to OFF and turn off the gas at the LP tank. Leave the lid in position and let the fire burn out. After the grill cools, remove and clean all parts.
