TROUBLESHOOTING
ENGINE WILL NOT START
CAUSE
ACTJON
Choke in incorrect position
Refer to Starting/Stopping instructions on page 13
Empty fuei tank
Fill fuel tank with properly mixed fuel
Primer buib wasn't pressed enough
Press primer bulb fully and slowly 5-7 times until fuel
is visible in the bulb
Engine fiooded
Use starting procedure WITHOUT USING CHOKE
Oid or improperiy mixed fuei Drain gas tank / Add fresh fuel mixture
Fouied spark piug
Replace or clean the spark plug
Plugged spark arrestor Clean or replace spark arrestor
ENGINE WILL NOT IDLE
CAUSE ACTION
Air fiiter is piugged
Replace or clean the air filter
Old or improperly mixed fuei Drain gas tank / Add fresh fuei mixture
Improper carburetor adjustment
Adjust per instructions on page 18
ENGINE WILL NOT ACCELERATE
CAUSE ACTION
Oid or improperiy mixed fuei Drain gas tank / Add fresh fuel mixture
Improper carburetor adjustment Take to an authorized service dealer for
carburetor adjustment
Throttle wire has come ioose
Thread throttle wire through the carburetor throttle
lever. Tighten screw.
Dirty air filter
Clean or replace the air filter
Piugged spark arrestor Clean or replace spark arrestor
ENGINE LACKS POWER OR STALLS
CAUSE ACTION
Old or improperly mixed fuel
Drain gas tank / Add fresh fuel mixture
Air fiiter is plugged
Replace or clean the air filter
Improper carburetor adjustment
Take to an authorized service dealer for
carburetor adjustment
Fouled spark plug
Replace or clean the spark plug
Plugged spark arrestor
Clean or replace spark arrestor
