CONNECTION
Your
Ryobi
cut-off
machine
is
powered
by a
precision
built
Ryobi electric
motor.
lt
should
be
connected
only
toapowersourcethatsatisfiesthepowerinputlistedonthetool'snameplates.
lfthenameplateismarked
1ZOV,
AC,
or 60H2,
the
tool
must
be
operated only
with
alternating
currerit
(normal
household
current).
Never
operate
the tool
on direct (DC)
or
current
that is
lower
or
higher
than
the specified
voltage.
A
substantial
voltage
drop
will
cause
a loss
of
power
and overheating.
lf
the tool does
not
operate
when
plugged
into
an
ou1et,
double-
check
the
power
supply
rating.
GROUNDING
INSTRUCTIONS
In
the
event
of
an
electrical
malf
unction
or
breakdown.
grounding
provides
a
path
of
reast
resistance
for
electric
current
to
reduce
the risk
of
electric
shock.
This
tool
is
equipped
with
an
electric cord
having
an
equipment-grounding
conductor
and
a
grounding
plug.
The
plug
must
be
plugged
into
a
matching
ouilet
that
is
properly
installed
and
grounded
in
accordance
with
all
local
codes
and
ordinances.
The
machine's
three-prong
plug
must
be
plugged
intc
a matching
outletthat
is
properly
installed
and
grounded
in
acccrdance
'with
ali local
codes
aiid
oi'"iirtar
rudc
(Figure
1-A).
lmproper
connection
of the
equipment
can
result
in
electric
shock.
Check
with
an
electrician
or service
personnel
if
you
are
unsure
about
proper
grounding.
Do
not
modify
the
plug;
if
it
will
not
fit
the
outlet,
have
the
correct
outlet
installed
by
a
qualified
electrician.
To
temporarily
use the
saw
with
a two-prong
ouilet.
use
an
adapter (not
for
Canada),
provided
the
outlet
is
properfy
grounded.
Make
sure
the
extending green
wire
is
connected
to the
ouilet-plate
retaining
screw.
The
temporary
adapter
should
be
used
only
until
a
properly
grounded
outlet
can
be installed
by
a
qualified
electrician,
and
onfy
if
ordinances
permit
such
use
(Figure
1-B).
Check
with
a
qualified
electrician
or
service
personnel
if
the
grounding
instructions
are Frct
completely
understood
or
if in
doubt
as
to
whether
the tool
or
outlet
is
properly
grounded.
