APPLICATIONS
You may use this product for the purposes listed below:
■ Light-duty stapling into wood
This product will accept RYOBI One+ 18 V lithium-ion
battery packs and RYOBI One+ 18 V nickel-cadmium
battery packs.
BATTERY PROTECTION FEATURES
RYOBI One+ 18 V lithium-ion batteries are designed with
features that protect the lithium-ion cells and maximise
battery life. Under some operating conditions, these
built-in features may cause the battery and the tool it is
powering to act differently from nickel-cadmium batteries.
During some applications, the battery electronics may
signal the battery to shut down, and cause the tool to
stop running. To reset the battery and tool, release the
trigger and resume normal operation.
NOTE: To prevent further shut down of the battery, avoid
forcing the tool.
If releasing the trigger does not reset the battery and
tool, the battery pack is depleted. If depleted, the battery
pack will begin charging when placed on the lithium-ion
charger.
TO INSTALL BATTERY PACK
See Figure 2.
■ Place battery pack in your stapler. Align raised rib on
battery pack with groove inside stapler.
■ Make sure the latches on each side of the battery
pack snap in place and battery pack is secured in
stapler before beginning operation.
CAUTION
When placing battery pack in the stapler, be sure
raised rib on battery pack aligns with the bottom
of the stapler and latches into place properly.
Improper installation of the battery pack can
cause damage to internal components.
TO REMOVE BATTERY PACK
See Figure 2.
■ Locate latches on side of battery pack and depress to
release battery pack from the stapler.
■ Remove battery pack from the stapler.
WARNING
Battery tools are always in operating condition.
Therefore, the switch should always be locked
when not in use or carrying at your side.
LOADING THE TOOL WITH STAPLES
See Figure 3-4.
■ Remove battery pack from the stapler.
■ Hold stapler upside down; squeeze latch and slide
base open.
■ Place staples in channel, legs facing upward and
close base.
■ Make sure the latch is securely locked in place.
■ Reattach battery pack to stapler.
SETTING DEPTH
See Figure 5.
The depth adjustment knob increases or decreases the
force with which a staple is driven into the workpiece.
■ Rotate the depth adjustment knob clockwise to
increase the force.
■ Rotate depth adjustment knob counterclockwise to
decrease the force.
■ Test on a scrap piece of the same material you are
using to achieve the desired depth.
NOTE: Harder materials will require more force to drive
a staple.
STAPLING
See Figure 6.
■ Hold handle firmly with magazine flat to workpiece,
forming a 90º angle.
■ Press the activation foot of the stapler down against
the workpiece. The activation foot must be depressed
before the switch trigger is depressed.
NOTE: The stapler will drive another staple each time the
trigger is depressed as long as the activation foot is
depressed.
REMOVING A JAMMED STAPLE
■ Remove battery pack from the stapler.
■ Hold tool upside down; squeeze latch and slide base
open.
■ Remove unused staples from magazine.
■ Remove jammed staple with needle nose pliers.
NOTE: You must remove jammed staple before using
stapler any further. If you try to drive a staple while
the stapler is jammed, you could cause damage to the
mechanism.
