readilyberepairedbydiggingoutallloosematerialandfillingwithfiberglassputty.
Alayeroffiberglassclothshouldthenbeappliedovertheaffectedareaandsandedand
fairedintotheruddershape.
6:08MASTSTEPThemaststepoftheSabre30islocatedonthecabintop,witha
structuralsystemtotransferthisloadingtotheheavilyreinforcedhullsectionsatthe
keel.Thedeckisreinforcedwithaplywoodcoreandadditionallayersoffiberglassat
thislocation.Thestructuralbeamintheheadlinertransfersthemastloadingtothe
teaksupportpostandthemainbulkhead.Theteaksupportpostissupportbyaheavy

7:00COMMISSIONINGPROCEDURE
ThepropercommissioningofyourSabreistheresponsibilityofyourdealer.Thisisa
veryimportantstepinassuringthesatisfactoryoperationofyouryacht.The
constructionandinspectionofeachSabreiscompletedtothefullestextentpossibleat
thefactory.However,furthercommissioningandinspectionisnecessaryunderactual
sailingconditionsandusage.Also,thiscommissioningprocedureshouldbefollowedin
subsequentyearsatcommissioningtime.
7:01COMMISSIONINGCHECKLIST
:TheattachedCommissioningCheckListprocedureshould
befollowedbyyourdealerincommissioningyouryacht.Eachitemonthislistshouldbe
checkedoffbythedealerastheworkiscompleted.Boththedealerandtheownershould
signthebottomofthechecklisttoconfirmthatallitemsarecompleted.Thissigned
copymustbereturnedtoSabreYachtsaspartofthewarrantyregistration.
7:02PROPERLIFTING
:Thecarefulplacementoftheliftingstrapsusedtoliftyour
Sabreisveryimportanttoavoiddamagingthepropellershaft,andtoassurethatthe
centerofgravityoftheyachtismidwaybetweenthestraps.Additionalcautionshouldbe
exercisedtoavoidplacingastrapincontactwithaspeedometerordepthfinderthruhull

7:03TRIM
:Youryachtisdesignedtofloatlevelwiththebootstripemoldedintothe
hullundernormalconditions.Youmayfindthatthetrimofyouryachtisaffectedbythe
weightofoptionalequipmentandtankage,thefullnessofwaterandfueltanks,andbythe
placementofyourequipmentandsupplies.Inmostcases,correcttrimcanbemaintained
bystoringheavyitemsinappropriatelocations.Ifneededtofurtheradjustthetrimof
youryacht,60lb.leadtrimmingballastblocksmaybepurchasedfromSabreYachts,
togetherwithinstallationinstructions.
7:04STANDINGRIGGING
:Thecarefuladjustmentofthestandingriggingofthemastunder
actualsailingconditionsiscriticaltoavoidmastfailure.Theriggingshouldbe
adjustedtomaintainamaximumbendof3"inthelateraldirection,and6"inaforeand
aftdirectionunderallsailingconditions.Thewireriggingwilltendtopermanently
stretchoveraperiodoftime,asthestrandsbedintooneanother,sorepeatedchecking
ofriggingadjustmentisnecessary.Detailedinstructionsfortuningtheriggingare
includedinSection13:00ofthismanual.
7:05BOTTOMPAINT:Antifoulingbottompaintmustbecarefullymatchedtothetypeof
paintalreadyontheboattoavoidtheblisteringandpeelingcommontomismatched
