foroffwindsailtrim.Thevangisledfromabailorstrapattachmentontheboomtoa
stanchionbasebailorpadeyethroughboltedonthetoerail.
Undernocircumstancesshouldthevangbeattachedtothealuminummastcollarordeckat
thebaseofthemast.Themastcollaranddeckarenotdesignedfortheextremeloading
whichcanoccurwhenvangingthemainupwind.Shouldyouwishtousethevangforupwind
sailtrim,aminimum4:1powervangratioshouldbeused,andapropermeansofattachment
tothemasttubemustbeprovided.Thisisaccomplishedbyinstallingalargebailwhich
isboltedthroughthecenterofthemasttubewiththerecommendedbolt.OnSabre28's
and30's,thebailshouldbepositionedhalfwaybetweenthetopofthemaststepandthe
mastwiringaccessplate.OnSabre34'sand38's,thebailshouldbepositioned1"to2"
abovethetopofthecanvasmastboot.
