Outdoor Fan Motor
▪ Purpose
Improve efficiency in cooling mode, facilitate circulation of refrigerant, and minimize frost formation in heating mode by controlling
the fan.
▪ Concept
The fan RPM is regulated through PD control to enable operation according to the target high pressure in cooling mode.
The fan RPM is regulated through PD control to enable operation according to the target low pressure in heating mode.
▪ Control specifications in detail
Control the fan RPM by assuming the target pressure. In case of cooling operation, control RPM by assuming the target high pres-
sure. In case that the high pressure is higher than the target pressure, raise the Fan RPM on the assumption that condensation is not
enough. In case that the high pressure is lower that the target pressure, lower the Fan RPM on the assumption that condensation is
excessive. The target pressure is as in the table.
In case of heating operation, control RPM by assuming the target low pressure. In case that the low pressure is higher than the target
pressure, lower the Fan RPM on the assumption that the evaporating power is excessive. In case that the low pressure is lower than
the target pressure, raise the Fan RPM on the assumption that the evaporating power is not enough. The target pressure is as in the
table. The target pressure is changed according to the value optimized to the outdoor temperature.
