• As shown in the table above, you may encounter a voltage-sag depending on the
wire length. If you use an excessively long wire for camera connection, the camera
may not work properly.
Voltage for proper camera operation: DC 12V±10%, AC 24V±10%
Voltage drop shown in the table above may show difference from the actual depending on the
manufacturer and cable type.
RS-485 Communications
Using RS-485 communication, the camera menu can be accessed using Samsung
Techwin’s System Controller or the DVR.
• For accessing the camera from a computer
Use a RS-485 converter to connect the camera’s control port with the computer’s
serial cable.

• For accessing the camera from a DVR or the System Controller
connect the camera’s RS-485+ and RS-485– terminals to the RS-485 control board’s
terminals of desired device with a RS-485 cable (TRX+ and TRX–).

When constructing a proprietary controller for direct camera control, apply Pelco-D or Samsung-Techwin
protocol.
