cancel
the
AMSS
operation,

STOP

stand
by,
after
locating

selection,

PAUSE
button
before

Re-press

start

To use the AMSS button and AMSS indicators
The
AMSS
functions
by
detecting
the
blank
tape
sections
between
selections.
Therefore
count
the
selections on the cassette as follows.
In the forward direction (Fig. 17)
Always
count
the
selection
immediately
after
the
one
you
are
currently
listening
to
as
No.
1.
Also
at
the
very
start
of
a
cassette
(before
you
have
heard
any
music),
the
second
selection
on
the
cassette
is
No.
1.
1f
you
wish
to
hear
the
first
selection,
start
playing
the
cassette
and
wait
until
the
music starts.

The
AMSS
functions

detecting

tape
section
between
selections

seconds
minimum).
The
system
will
work
correctly
with
virtually
any
commercially
pre-recorded
music
cassette.
Some
tapes
you
record
yourself
may
cause
incorrect
operation,
for
example:
a}
Voice
tapes
recorded
with
a
pause
in
the
conversation.
b}
Tapes
with
less
than
4
seconds
of
silence
between
selections
(see
use
of
‘Record
muting
button”
section).
c) Tapes recorded at a very low level.
d)
Tapes
with
noise
recorded
on
the
blank
spaces
between
selections
{as
from
a
very
ere
record,
wind
noise
from
a
microphone,
etc.).

Placing
the
unit
on
a
television
set
may
make
the
AMSS
function
incorrectly
because
the
AMSS
is
affected by signals radiated from a television set.
