  • RESET Button (7): Resets the unit.
  • Digital Display (8): Shows track numbers, program numbers, and time information.

Programmed Play:

  • Up to 16 selections can be programmed.
  • To program: Press PGM, then use SKIP to select tracks within 20 seconds. Press PGM again to enter additional selections. Press P► to start programmed play or stop programming.
  • To check memory: Press PGM.
  • Notes on programming: Play is not interrupted during programming. Display returns to "00" if SKIP is pressed after the last selection number. Display returns to "01" if PGM is pressed after the 16th program number. SKIP should not be used to check memory as it changes selection numbers; it's for cancelling or correcting programmed selections. To cancel a programmed selection, call its program number with PGM and use SKIP until "00" is displayed.
  • To start programmed play: Press P►. "P" will appear on the display, and play will begin from PROGRAM NO. 1. If a program number is empty, the player skips to the next program. If memory is empty, it defaults to normal play.
  • To stop programmed play: Press P► again. The player reverts to normal play.
  • To start playing from a desired program number: Press P►, then use SKIP until the desired program number is displayed.
  • To repeat one programmed track: Push RPT. If not active, all programmed selections repeat.
  • Memory for programmed play is automatically cleared when the disc is removed.

Installation:

The manual provides instructions for both "under dash" and "DIN size cutout" installations.

  • Under Dash Installation:
    1. Attach side brackets (A) to the unit using Hex Head Bolts, spring, and flat washers.
    2. Locate the unit, mark mounting holes, and drill 6.5 mm holes.
    3. Mount side brackets (A) with screws and nuts.
    4. Attach the rear bracket (B) to the back of the unit with Hex Head Bolt, spring, and flat washer.
    5. Bend rear bracket (B) as needed to reach structural support and fix it with screws and nuts or tapping screw and washer.
    • Notes: Ensure the unit is level (no more than 30 degrees tilt up). If mounting angle is between 20°-30°, turn the screw with a screwdriver. Remove the shipping screw to protect the disc player from shocks during shipping; the player won't play with it attached. Determine optimum location for easy control access and no interference with cables. Consult a dealer for other installation types. Use only supplied screws and tighten them to prevent loosening from vibration. Avoid locations exposed to moisture, high temperatures from a heater, or direct sunlight.
  • DIN Size Cutout Installation:
    1. Fix the trim panel to the product.
    2. Insert mounting bracket (2) into a DIN-standard cutout (182 x 53mm).
    3. Use plastic spacer (3) between mounting bracket and dashboard if needed (if the bracket is loose in the cutout).
    4. Bend frame straps (a) of the mounting bracket outwards until the frame is tightened in the cutout.
    5. Fix the metal strap (4) to the back of the product and insert it into the part @ from the front, ensuring it's fully inserted.
    6. Screw the metal strap (4) to the car body.

Connection:

  • Connect the player to EXCEDIO Series car stereo equipment (EX-1010(G)/1010(A)/1110(G)/1110(A)).
  • Signal Output Wire: Connects to the car stereo.
  • Black Wire: Connects to chassis ground (earth), preferably a metallic part of the car body. Insufficient grounding can cause noise or operational failure.
  • Red Wire: Connects to the +12V power terminal energized when the ignition key is in the accessory position.
  • Yellow Wire: Connects to the +12V power terminal energized at all times.
  • Notes: Connect the output cord to the rear socket of the car stereo equipment. Refer to the car stereo's instruction manual for wiring details. Use the supplied power relay cord if taking power supply is difficult.
  • After making connections, press the RESET button.

Maintenance Features:

  • General Safety and Efficiency:
    • Use only with 12V power; not for 24V vehicles.
    • Avoid installing in extremely hot, damp, or dusty locations.
    • Prevent water from getting on the player.
    • If the player malfunctions due to extreme temperatures, wait for the car's temperature to normalize. If the internal temperature exceeds reference, a protective circuit ejects the disc; cool the car and restart.
    • Never insert foreign objects into the disc slot.
    • Remove compact discs when not in use and store them in their cases to prevent warping from direct sunlight or prolonged exposure.
    • Keep sound volume low enough to hear outside sounds while driving.
    • Do not attempt to disassemble or adjust the disc player.
    • Do not clean the unit with chemical solvents.
  • Moisture Condensation:
    • Water drops may form on the optical lens in cold weather when the heater is turned on, or in damp areas.
    • If this occurs, remove the disc and wait about an hour for the moisture to evaporate before using the unit.
  • Sound Skip:
    • Sound may skip on very rough roads, but this will not scratch or damage the disc.
  • Handling Discs:
    • Use compact discs with the "COMPACT DISC DIGITAL AUDIO" mark.
    • Wipe fingerprints and dust from the glossy signal surface with a soft cloth, wiping in a straight motion from the inside to the outside. Small dust particles and light stains won't affect reproduction.
    • Never use chemicals like record sprays, antistatic sprays, fluid, benzine, or thinner to clean discs, as they can irreparably damage the plastic surface.
    • Return discs to their cases after use to prevent scratches that could cause laser pickup skips.
    • Do not expose discs to direct sunlight, high humidity, or high temperatures for extended periods, as this can cause warping.
    • Do not stick paper or write on the disc surface with a ball-point pen.

Troubleshooting:

The manual provides a troubleshooting guide for common issues:

  • No power:
    • Cause: Car's ignition switch not on; fuse blown.
    • Solution: Switch ignition key to "ACC" if connected to accessory circuits; replace fuse with another 5A fuse.
  • Disc cannot be loaded or ejected:
    • Cause: Disc already in player; trying to insert disc backwards; shipping screw not removed; disc is extremely dirty or defective; car temperature too high; condensation.
    • Solution: Remove existing disc; insert disc with label side facing up; remove shipping screw; clean disc or try a new one; cool off car; leave player off for an hour.
  • No sound:
    • Cause: Volume knob on car stereo not adjusted; power cord not connected; connection cords not connected.
    • Solution: Adjust car stereo volume; double-check power cord; check speaker and other connection cords.
  • Operation keys do not work:
    • Cause: Built-in microcomputer operating incorrectly due to noise.
    • Solution: Remove and reinsert disc; press reset button.
  • Sound skips:
    • Cause: Installation angle greater than 30°; disc player not installed correctly; disc is extremely dirty or defective; condensation.
    • Solution: Adjust angle to less than 30°; fasten player securely; clean disc or try a new one; leave player off for an hour.
  • Sound quality is poor:
    • Cause: Disc is defective; disc is dirty.
    • Solution: Try another disc (if it plays properly, the first disc is defective); clean the disc as explained in the handling section.
