5. Acessories for your CCD Camera
This section describes several of the common Accessories designed to work
with the STF-8300.
Color Filter Wheels
Color filter wheels enable collection of LRGB color images, narrowband
and photometric images with the STF-8300. The FW5-8300 is a 5-position
filter wheel that holds 36mm diameter filters for unvignetted images at fast
focal ratios. The FW8-8300 is an 8-position wheel. These can be added at
any time.
OAG-8300
The OAG-8300 is a unique integrated Off-Axis Guider made specifically
for the ST-8300 and STF-8300 cameras. The OAG-8300 uses a 7-element
optical design to move the guide camera to the side of the STF-8300 and at
the same time doubles the field of view of the guide camera. With the
addition of an ST-i Autoguider, the OAG-8300 turns the STF-8300 into a
self-guiding camera system. The OAG-8300 may be used with our without
a filter wheel.
ST-i Autoguider and Planetary Camera
The ST-i is a small, sensitive guide camera that also works extremely well
as a planet camera due to its rapid download rates. It can be used in the
OAG-8300 Off-Axis Guider assembly mentioned above, or separately with
its own compact optical system and mounting hardware.
Camera Lens Adapters
T-to-C adapter screws into the T-Thread on the front of the camera and
enables use of the STF-8300 with standard C-Mount camera lenses.
CLA7-8300, 35mm camera lens adapters. This adapter allows the use of
Nikon auto and manual focus lenses, Canon FD manual lenses, or Minolta
manual focus 35mm lenses with the STF-8300.
Canon EOS Lens adpter. This custom adapter allows the use of Canon
EOS lenses with the STF-8300 (autofocus capability is not supported)
12V Battery Cable
This power cable enables the use of the STF-8300 in the field from a car
cigarette lighter plug or direct from a battery. The cable has a locking
power plug at one end and a cigarette lighter plug at the other. A separate
section adds battery clips for direct attachment to battery terminals.
