Why is my Scag Power Equipment Lawn Mower leaving strips of uncut grass in the cutting path?
- KKenneth BrownAug 5, 2025
If your Scag Power Equipment Lawn Mower is leaving strips of uncut grass, several factors could be responsible. The blades may be dull or worn, or incorrectly sharpened, requiring you to sharpen them. The engine RPM might be too low; ensure you run the engine at full RPM. A slipping belt could also be the culprit, so adjust the belt tension. The deck may be plugged with grass accumulation, in which case you should clean the underside of the deck. If your ground speed is too fast, slow down to adjust for conditions. Cutting wet grass can also cause this issue, so cut when the grass is dry. Finally, bent blades can cause this, so replace the blades.
