  Streaking in your lawn after mowing with a Scag Power Equipment Lawn Mower can occur due to several reasons. The blades may be dull or worn, or they may be incorrectly sharpened. In this case, sharpen the blades. Low engine RPM or a slipping belt can also cause streaking; ensure the engine is running at full RPM and adjust the belt tension as needed. Additionally, if the deck is plugged with grass accumulation, clean the underside of the deck. Other potential causes include mowing wet grass (cut grass after it has dried out), ground speed too fast (slow your speed to adjust for conditions) and bent blades (replace blades).

  If your Scag Power Equipment Lawn Mower is scalping—hitting dirt or cutting very close to the ground—several factors could be responsible. Check and adjust tire pressures if they are low. Reduce ground speed to adjust for conditions if you're moving too fast. If you are cutting too low, you may need to reduce ground speed, raise the cutting height, or change the direction of cut, and/or change pitch and level. This issue can also arise on rough terrain; in such cases, consider reducing ground speed, raising the cutting height, or changing the direction of cut. Avoid mowing wet grass; cut it after it has dried out.
