Why is my Scag Power Equipment Lawn Mower leaving strips of uncut grass?
- JJessica LewisAug 14, 2025
If your Scag Power Equipment Lawn Mower is leaving strips of uncut grass in the cutting path, several factors could be responsible. The blades may be dull or worn, or they might be incorrectly sharpened; in either case, sharpen the blades. The engine RPM might be too low, so ensure you run the engine at full RPM. A slipping belt can also cause this issue, adjust the belt tension. The deck could be plugged with grass accumulation, so clean the underside of the deck. The ground speed might be too fast, so slow down to suit the conditions. Cutting wet grass can also cause this, so cut the grass after it has dried out. Finally, bent blades can cause this issue, so replace the blades.
