SCARAB MISTRAL - Abbreviated Operating Instructions
SWEEP MODE
VEHICLE ENGINE RUNNING. AIR TANKS FULL.
1. Vehicle stopped and in Neutral gear. Hand brake ON. (L1)OFF.
2. Auxiliary Engine switch ON (Main Panel). Engine speed will change to 1100rpm.
If reduction gearbox fitted, Step 3. If not, Step 4.
3. Clutch de-pressed, F1 switch ON. symbol will change to the symbol on the LCD screen.
If the symbol flashes and a buzzer sounds, press the F1 switch. Drive the vehicle slightly
forward and repeat step 3.
4. Select required sweeping equipment (Main Panel). Fan ON. (L1) ON.
5. Engage a suitable gear. Hand brake OFF. Clutch released, commence sweeping.
All sweeping gear is stopped and raised automatically when REVERSE is selected. Reduction
gearbox will disengage. Sweeping equipment and reduction gearbox will re-engage, when
forward is selected.
LEAVING SWEEP MODE / DISENGAGING REDUCTION DRIVE
1. Vehicle stopped and in Neutral gear. Hand brake ON.
2. (L1) OFF. Fan OFF (Main Panel).
If reduction gearbox fitted, Step 3. If it has not, Step 4.
3. Clutch de-pressed, F1 switch OFF. symbol will change to the symbol on the LCD
screen. Clutch released.
If the symbol flashes and a buzzer sounds, press the F1 switch. Drive the vehicle slightly
forward and repeat step 3.
4. Auxiliary Engine switch OFF (Main Panel).
Before stopping the auxiliary engine, allow it to idle for at least 2 minutes to allow the turbo-
charger to cool down.

ON RIGHT HAND DRIVE VEHICLES
Lever Right, side brush(es) OUT.
Lever Left, side brush(es) IN.
On machines fitted with variable extend and
retraction, move the lever momentarily in
the desired direction to ‘nudge’ the
brush(es).
Reversed on Left Hand Drive.
NOZZLE-TILT FUNCTION
Pull lever back and hold to OPEN. Release to
CLOSE.
Variable Tilt:-Pull lever back to ‘nudge’
DOWN from the LOCKED OPEN position.
Press and hold down the Safety Interlock and the
appropriate control switch.
For safety reasons only operate the Remote
Control controls from outside the vehicle,
from a vantage point that affords a good view
of the sweeper and its surroundings.
Before closing the rear door, ensure adequate
clearance and seal cleanliness.
