Do you have a question about the Scheiber BLOC 11 and is the answer not in the manual?

Overview

The SCHEIBER BLOC 11 is a versatile electronic control unit designed for integration into various systems, particularly those utilizing a CAN bus network. It functions as an interface for 6 momentary switches or contacts and provides status information via a potential-free relay contact. This device is part of the SCHEIBER Multibloc network, allowing it to recover the state of the control switch and to deport control to a power block (e.g., Bloc 3).

Usage Features

The BLOC 11 is designed for easy integration and operation within a control system. Its multiple inputs and outputs allow for flexible control and monitoring of various components.

Connection:

  • Input/Output/Power Supply: Uses MCP2,8 - 21Pts (BROWN) housing connectors (Scheiber Ref. 0E.CON1430, Tyco Ref. 8-968975-1 MCP2,8GEH21P) with MCP2,8 Receptacle 0,5-1,0mm2 tinned (Scheiber Ref. 0E.CLP360, Tyco Ref. 1-968849-1). An extraction tool for MCP contacts (Tyco Ref. 1-1579007-2) is recommended.
  • CAN Bus: Connects via two 6-way Micro-Fit connectors. It can be connected to another Multibloc compatible device using a CAN connection cable or terminated with a 120Ω impedance matching plug.
  • Wiring: The manual provides a detailed crimp pin designation table for connecting equipment to the TYCO receptacle, including:
    • S1-S6_NO: Normally Open (NO) contacts for Relays 1-6.
    • S1-S6_C: Common relay contacts for Relays 1-6.
    • E1-E6_NUM_PLUS: Plus digital inputs for momentary switches 1-6.
      • BAT: Power supply input (8-32VDC).
    • CODING: Coding input.
    • MASS: Battery mass.

Protection:

  • Supply Line Protection: Requires a fuse or circuit breaker of 5A, which must be accessible and identified for the user.

Markings Used:

  • V: Volt
  • A: Ampere
  • --- ou DC: Direct current

Maintenance Features

The BLOC 11 is designed for reliability, but proper installation and adherence to safety warnings are crucial for its longevity and performance.

Installation Instructions:

  • Placement: Must be installed in a ventilated location, protected from water splashing, heat, and humidity. Avoid installation on heat-sensitive supports like carpet or PVC flooring.
  • Safety Warning: Do not perform connection or disconnection with power on to prevent damage to the device or injury.

Warranty Terms:

  • Duration: SCHEIBER warranties all its products against failures or masked-failures for a period of 2 years from the invoice date. Repairs and replacements during this period do not alter the warranty terms or time.
  • Conditions: Warranty is valid only upon presentation of the invoice.
  • Exclusions: The warranty does not apply in cases of misuse, wrong installation, repair by unauthorized technicians, damage from improper use (e.g., fuses replaced by incorrect values), use in an unsuitable environment, or physical damage from handling/transport. It does not cover calibration or verification due to normal component aging.
  • Modality: Equipment freight for warranty claims is charged to the customer. If returned equipment is non-conforming, SCHEIBER reserves the right to refuse free repair and propose an estimate.

Responsibility Limits:

  • SCHEIBER is not responsible for direct damages or damages not due to the normal use of the equipment. Disputes will be submitted to the French court specified by SCHEIBER.
