5. Safety information
General power tool safety warnings
m WARNING! Read all safety warnings, instructions,
illustrations and specications provided with this pow-
er tool. Failure to follow all instructions listed below
may result in electric shock, re and/or serious injury.
Save all warnings and instructions for future ref-
erence.
The term “power tool” in the warnings refers to your
mains-operated (corded) power tool or battery-operat-
ed (cordless) power tool.
1. Keep the work area orderly. Disorder in the work
area results in risk of accidents.
2. Take environmental inuences into account.
Do not expose power tools to rain. Do not use
power tools in a damp or wet environment. Ensure
good lighting. Do not use electric tools in the vicin-
ity of combustible uids or gases.
3. Protect yourself from electric shock. Avoid
body contact with earthed parts, for example
pipes, heaters, ovens, refrigerators.
4. Keep away from children! Do not let other people
touch the tool or the cable, keep them away from
your work area.
5. Store your tools safely. Unused tools should be
stored in a dry, locked room and out of reach of
children.
6. Do not overload your tools. They work better
and more safely in the specied output range.
7. Use the correct tool. Do not use tools that are
too weak or attachments for tough tasks. Do not
use tools for purposes and work for which they are
not intended; for example, do not use a hand-held
circular saw to fell trees or cut branches.
8. Wear suitable work clothing. Do not wear loose
clothing or jewellery. They can be caught by mov-
ing parts. Rubber gloves and anti-slip footwear are
recommended when working outdoors. Tie long
hair back in a hair net.
9. Wear safety goggles. Use a respiratory mask
when working with dust.
10. Do not misuse the cable. Do not carry the tool
by the cable and do not use it to pull the connector
out of the socket. Protect the cable from heat, oil
and sharp edges.
The device may only be used in the intended manner.
Any use beyond this is improper. The user/operator, not
the manufacturer, is responsible for damages or inju-
ries of any type resulting from this.
Only cutting wheels that are suitable for the machine
may be used. The use of any type of saw blades is pro-
hibited.
An element of the intended use is also the observance
of the safety instructions, as well as the assembly in-
structions and operating information in the operating
manual.
Persons who operate and maintain the machine must
be familiar with the manual and must be informed about
potential dangers.
In addition, the applicable accident prevention regula-
tions must be strictly observed.
Other general occupational health and safety-related
rules and regulations must be observed.
The liability of the manufacturer and resulting damages
are excluded in the event of modications of the ma-
chine.
Despite use as intended, specic risk factors cannot be
entirely eliminated. Due to the design and layout of the
machine, the following risks remain:
• Contact with the diamond cutting wheel in the un-
covered area.
• Use of an incorrect cutting wheel. The cutting wheel
included in the scope of delivery is exclusively per-
mitted for the machining of tiles.
• Reaching into the running diamond cutting wheel.
• Ejection of a faulty diamond attachment of the cut-
ting wheel
• Ejection of workpieces and workpiece parts.
• Hearing damage when the necessary hearing pro-
tection is not used.
The machine may only be operated with original parts
and original accessories from the manufacturer.
The safety, operating and maintenance specications
of the manufacturer, as well as the dimensions speci-
ed in the technical data, must be observed.
Please observe that our equipment was not designed
with the intention of use for commercial or industrial
purposes. We assume no guarantee if the equipment
is used in commercial or industrial applications, or for
equivalent work.
