Question and Answer IconNeed help?

Do you have a question about the Scholl 27100 and is the answer not in the manual?

Overview

The Scholl heating bridge is a device designed for keeping dishes warm, available in both 1-tier and 2-tier configurations, with or without cough protection. It utilizes IRK-Halogen-infrared-quartz-radiators to provide heat, ensuring food remains at an optimal temperature.

Function Description

The primary function of the Scholl heating bridge is to maintain the warmth of prepared dishes. It achieves this through the use of infrared-quartz radiators, which are designed to provide consistent and efficient heating. The heating zones can be switched individually, offering flexibility in operation depending on the amount of food to be kept warm. This individual control allows for energy efficiency and precise temperature management for different dishes. The device is suitable for both transportable and fixed mounting designs, making it adaptable to various kitchen and serving environments.

Important Technical Specifications

The heating bridge models are categorized by their tier count, presence of cough protection, number of radiators, and power output.

1-Tier Heating Bridge:

  • Casing and feet: Made of chrome nickel steel 18/10.
  • Radiators: IRK-Halogen-infrared-quartz-radiator, including splinter shield.
  • Heating zones: Individually switchable.
  • Height: 435 mm.
  • Voltage: 230 V for all 1-tier models.
  • Power:
    • Models with 2 radiators (e.g., 27100, 27110): 800 W.
    • Models with 3 radiators (e.g., 27120, 27130, 27140): 1,200 W.
    • Models with 4 radiators (e.g., 27150, 27160, 27170): 1,600 W.
    • Models with 5 radiators (e.g., 27180, 27190, 27200): 2,000 W.
  • Lengths: Ranging from 1,000 mm to 2,000 mm, corresponding to the number of radiators.

2-Tier Heating Bridge:

  • Casing and feet: Made of chrome nickel steel 18/10.
  • Radiators: IRK-Halogen-infrared-quartz-radiator, including splinter shield.
  • Heating zones: Individually switchable.
  • Height: 800 mm.
  • Voltage:
    • Models with 4 radiators (e.g., 27100/D, 27110/D): 230 V.
    • Models with 6, 8, or 10 radiators: 400 V.
  • Power:
    • Models with 4 radiators (e.g., 27100/D, 27110/D): 1,600 W.
    • Models with 6 radiators (e.g., 27120/D, 27130/D, 27140/D): 2,400 W.
    • Models with 8 radiators (e.g., 27150/D, 27160/D, 27170/D): 3,200 W.
    • Models with 10 radiators (e.g., 27180/D, 27190/D, 27200/D): 4,000 W.
  • Lengths: Ranging from 1,000 mm to 2,000 mm, corresponding to the number of radiators.

The device conforms to accepted technical rules and relevant safety codes, including the Low Voltage Directive 2006/95/EG.

Usage Features

The heating bridge is designed for straightforward operation. Each tier has a separate step switch for controlling the heat lamps. To use the device, the heat lamps are switched on via the step switch. The heat lamps are ready for operation, and the food to be kept warm can be placed under them. It is important to note that the food must be preheated and not deep-frozen when placed under the heating bridge. After use, the heat lamps should be switched off via the step switch and allowed to cool down.

Safety Notes for Usage:

  • Burn Hazard: Do not touch the infrared radiator or the device surfaces when hot. Allow the unit to cool down fully before handling.
  • Eye Damage Risk: Do not look directly into the light source.
  • Unintended Use: The heating bridge is not intended for defrosting/warming up deep-frozen/cooled food.
  • HACCP Compliance: The total permitted regeneration and hot-holding time according to HACCP will be exceeded after 3 hours, posing a risk of potential health impairment.

Maintenance Features

Maintenance and cleaning are crucial for the longevity and safe operation of the heating bridge.

General Maintenance and Repair:

  • All maintenance and repairs must be carried out by an authorized professional observing applicable safety regulations. Improperly executed work can put safety at risk.
  • Before any cleaning, maintenance, or repair work, the appliance must be disconnected from the mains and de-energized. This means pulling the mains plug or de-energizing the electrical circuit.
  • Work on the electrical installation must only be performed by qualified electricians.
  • Only original spare parts and accessories should be used for repairs.

Cleaning and Care:

  • Cooling Down: Always allow the unit to cool down before starting any cleaning work to prevent burn hazards.
  • Cleaning Method:
    • For light cleaning, wipe surfaces with a cloth or soft brush/sponge soaked in warm water with a small amount of dishwashing detergent. Follow with clear water to remove any residue, then rub dry.
    • For stubborn residue, a stainless steel cleaning product may be used.
    • Prohibited Cleaning Agents: Never use aggressive or bleaching products (containing active oxygen, chlorine, or caustic/corrosive constituents), or abrasive cleaning products (scouring creams/pastes, steel wool, saponified steel wool, metal/plastic sponges, or sponges with a scratchy surface).
    • Prohibited Cleaning Equipment: Never use steam and/or pressure jet cleaning equipment, as this can damage the appliance and pose a life hazard.
  • Stainless Steel Care: Stainless steel is susceptible to scratching. It is recommended to clean the stainless steel surface once per week with a standard commercial stainless steel care product to form a protective layer and prevent discoloration.
  • Residue Removal: Remove lime, grease, and starch residue immediately to prevent stain formation.
  • Product Instructions: When using any cleaning product, observe the manufacturer's instructions and test on a small area first.

Disposal and Environmental Notes

  • Packing Material: The appliance is packed to prevent transit damage. Packing materials are eco-compatible, 100% recyclable, and marked with a symbol to that effect. Dispose of packing materials in an environmentally sound manner, keeping them out of reach of children.
  • Appliance Disposal: At the end of its service life, the product must not be disposed of with normal household waste. It must be turned in for recycling at an approved collecting facility, as indicated by a symbol on the product. Render the appliance inoperable before disposal by pulling the plug and cutting the mains cord. Recycling contributes to environmental protection. Local government or community administration can provide information on disposal facilities.

Warranty and Service

  • Warranty Conditions: The manufacturer provides a 12-month material warranty for merchants. The warranty covers the provision of relevant parts for defects. The defective part must be returned within two weeks.
  • Exclusions: The warranty does not cover failure to observe instructions, unintended use, alterations/modifications, or the use of non-original spare parts.
