What to do if the FULL CHARGE LED is on, but battery is not fully charged with my Schumacher Battery Charger?
    • Q
      qsanchezSep 3, 2025
If the FULL CHARGE LED is on but your battery isn't fully charged when using the Schumacher Battery Charger, it could be because the surface charge voltage is high, which means you may need to replace the battery. Another possibility is that the battery voltage is very low, and the charger is misdetecting it as 6V instead of 12V. Try unplugging the charger from the AC outlet and plugging it back in to resolve this issue.

Why is the CONNECTED LED not on for my Schumacher SCI90 Battery Charger?
    • J
      James RiversSep 2, 2025
If the CONNECTED LED is not on, make sure the battery is connected correctly. If the battery voltage is at zero volts, turn off everything in the car and try to connect again. Also, check the input fuse and replace it if it's bad (use a 5 Amp fuse). Finally, check the output breaker and push the button to reset it if necessary.

Why is the battery voltage still low after charging with my Schumacher SCI90 Battery Charger?
    • K
      Kelly EllisAug 31, 2025
If the battery voltage is still under 10V (for a 12V battery) or 5V (for a 6V battery) after 2 hours of charging with your Schumacher Battery Charger, it could be caused by trying to charge a 6 volt battery on the 12 volt setting, or the battery could be bad. Have it checked or replaced.

Why Schumacher Battery Charger battery is unable to reach the full charged voltage?
    • J
      John HuffmanAug 29, 2025
If the battery was unable to reach the “full charged” voltage, it could be caused by trying to charge a large battery or bank of batteries on too low of a current setting, or the battery may have a shorted cell. Try again with a higher current setting, or have the battery checked or replaced.

Why was my Schumacher SCI90 Battery Charger unable to keep the battery fully charged?
    • J
      Jessica StantonAug 28, 2025
If the Schumacher Battery Charger was unable to keep the battery fully charged in maintain mode, it could be that the battery won’t hold a charge due to a drain or because the battery is bad. Make sure there are no loads on the battery. If there are, remove them. If there are none, have the battery checked or replaced.

Why is the charging LED blinking on my Schumacher Battery Charger?
    • K
      Kelsey GreenAug 26, 2025
If the CHARGING LED is blinking on your Schumacher Battery Charger, it indicates that the charger is in Abort Mode, the battery is sulfated, or the battery is bad. Unplug the charger from the AC and plug it back in. Try using Desulfation Mode for 8 hours. Also, have the battery checked.

Why is the full charge LED on, but my Schumacher SCI90 battery isn't fully charged?
    • K
      knightkarenAug 25, 2025
If the FULL CHARGE LED is on, but the battery is not fully charged, it may be because the surface charge voltage is high, or the battery voltage is very low, and the Schumacher Battery Charger detects it as 6V, not 12V. In this case, replace the battery or unplug the charger from the AC and plug it back in.

What to do if the CHARGING LED is blinking on my Schumacher SCI90?
    • R
      robinsonjillAug 23, 2025
If the CHARGING LED is blinking on your Schumacher Battery Charger, it could be due to several reasons. The charger might be in Abort Mode, in which case you should unplug the charger from the AC outlet and then plug it back in. Another possibility is that the battery is sulfated; if this is the case, use Desulfation Mode for 8 hours. Finally, the battery itself might be bad, and you should have it checked.
