En gine idle speeds at high den sity al ti tudes may be less than those
set at sea level con di tions. Do not rap idly re duce throt tle to idle stop
in flight.
WARNING
TO MINIMIZE POSSIBILITY OF ENGINE
STOPPAGE, RAPID THROTTLE REDUCTIONS
TO FULL IDLE DURING FLIGHT SHALL NOT BE
CONDUCTED AT ANY ALTITUDE.
3-11. AIR RE START
1. Es tab lish 52 kt (60 mph) auto ro ta tion.
2. Pick out land ing spot. If less than 2000 feet above ter rain, pro -
ceed with auto ro ta tion land ing.
3. If al ti tude per mits (He li cop ters with carbureted en gine -
HO-360-C1A):
a. Mix ture - FULL RICH
b. Throt tle - CRACK AP PROX I MATELY 1/2 AN INCH
c. Starter - EN GAGE
4. If al ti tude per mits (He li cop ters with fuel in jected en gine -
HIO-360-G1A):
a. Mix ture - IDLE CUT OFF
b. Throt tle - CRACK AP PROX I MATELY 1/2 AN INCH.
c. Starter - EN GAGE
d. Mix ture push to FULL RICH when en gine fires.
Note:
If fuel pump was on at time of en gine stop page, a
flooded con di tion may have re sulted ne ces si tat ing ad -
di tional use of the starter
