Measurements made below 10% of full scale will exceed the absolute accuracy specification. Select a
lower range to avoid errors.

7. Select a Mode
Pressing the MODE button toggles between Watts and Joules mode.
8. Take your measurement
Direct the laser beam onto the absorbing surface of the detector.
A. Joules Mode: Press the ZERO button to zero the display. Fire your laser. The display will show
the energy of the pulse, this may take several seconds depending on the model of the calorimeter.
The TRIG annunciator will remain lit until the calorimeter has recovered and is ready for the
next pulse. You should not fire at the calorimeter again until TRIG has gone out. When you
press the ZERO button the display reading is indicative of the thermal state of the calorimeter. If
you observe a drifting of the display you should wait until the calorimeter has come to
equilibrium before pulsing again.
