Overview

This document describes the ReFlex 1-Door Underbench Fridge & Freezer, a refrigeration product designed for commercial use. It provides essential information regarding safety, installation, operation, and maintenance to ensure optimal performance and longevity of the appliance.

Function Description

The ReFlex 1-Door Underbench Fridge & Freezer is a commercial refrigeration unit designed to store perishable products at controlled temperatures. It features an electronic controller that regulates the internal temperature, signals alarms, and captures operational information. The internal temperature is factory-set for storing perishable goods, ensuring they remain fresh and safe. The appliance is equipped with a key lock for security, allowing users to control access to its contents. While the unit is primarily a fridge, the manual also includes defrosting instructions specifically for a freezer, suggesting a potential dual-purpose or model variation.

Usage Features

Installation:

Proper installation is crucial for the appliance's performance and safety. The unit must be placed on a surface capable of supporting its loaded weight. Adequate ventilation is required, with specific clearances: a minimum of 50mm on each side, 35mm behind (provided by a rear spacer), and 30mm below (provided by cabinet feet). The area in front of the grille and door must be kept clear. No above clearance is required. The cabinet should not be installed in direct sunlight or on an uneven surface. It is designed to operate within a specific climate class environment, which is indicated on the cabinet rating label. The power supply should not be overloaded, and the appliance must only be used with the voltage specified on its rating label.

Loading Product:

Before loading, the cabinet should be allowed to cool down to the desired storage temperature. When loading, it's important to leave a 25mm space between products and the back and top of the cabinet interior to ensure proper internal airflow. Shelves have a maximum load capacity of 20kg per shelf. Users should avoid overloading shelves, and if a shelf shows signs of flexing, product should be removed. Products should not overhang the shelves or be loaded directly onto the cabinet floor; shelves should always be used.

Door Operation:

The cabinet door is fitted with a key lock for security. The door opening side can be reversed by following a detailed procedure outlined in the manual, which involves unscrewing and swapping various hinge components. After reversing the door, it's important to check for correct operation, ensuring it self-closes from approximately 45° and stays open past 70°. If not, the bottom hinge square hole orientation may need adjustment.

Electronic Controller:

The electronic controller manages the internal temperature and provides operational data. Users can customize settings and view historical data by downloading the SKOPE-connect app from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store and connecting via Bluetooth® wireless technology.

Safety Precautions:

Several safety precautions must be observed. The appliance must be disconnected from the power supply before any cleaning or maintenance. Grilles should not be covered, and airflow entry or exhaust should not be blocked. Mechanical methods (scraping, chiselling) should not be used to remove ice during defrosting, as this can damage the refrigeration circuit. No electrical devices or appliances should be used inside the food storage compartment. The appliance is not designed to be stable while in motion, so extreme caution is needed when moving or transporting it. Explosive substances, such as aerosol cans with flammable propellants, should not be stored inside. All electrical work must be performed by authorized personnel. If the power supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by an authorized service agent.

Maintenance Features

Cleaning Before First Use:

Before initial use, the cabinet interior and all food contact surfaces must be thoroughly cleaned and sanitised. The cabinet should be unplugged from the power supply, and only standard stainless steel cleaners suitable for food preparation areas should be used.

Routine Cleaning:

Regular cleaning is essential for maintaining hygiene and performance. The cabinet must be unplugged from the power supply before cleaning. Abrasive, corrosive, or solvent-based cleaners should not be used, as they can damage the cabinet. The outside of the cabinet should be wiped with a damp cloth, and the inside with standard stainless steel cleaners. Care must be taken to keep moisture away from electrical parts. The condenser coil, located at the back of the cabinet, must be kept clean. SKOPE strongly recommends brushing the condenser coil monthly to remove dust, which is crucial for efficient operation.

Defrosting (Freezer Only):

For models functioning as a freezer, defrosting is necessary when ice and frost build up to 20-30mm inside the cabinet. To defrost, all product must be removed and stored appropriately. The cabinet should be unplugged, and the door left open to allow the ice to melt. Ice and water must be collected during defrost to prevent slip hazards. Once all ice has melted and water is cleaned up, the cabinet can be reconnected to the power supply and allowed to cool to the desired storage temperature before reloading product.

Service & Support:

SKOPE emphasizes that years of satisfaction can be achieved by following simple preventative maintenance guidelines. Helpful information and support are available on the SKOPE website.
