Don the blower device. Carry the device so that you can check the red signal light when working.
Donning instructions for the facepieces are given in the respective Instructions for Use.
o When the system is in operation, the blower’s red signal light will not burn constantly but it may
icker on and off at the pace of breathing. This can be caused by clogged lters. A prolonged
operation with heavy load shortens the battery life time.
If the red signal light stays on, it is time to replace lters. The signal light thus indicates that the
chosen minimum air ow rate (65 or 120 l/min) cannot be reached. This can be caused by clogged
lters or for instance a throttled breathing hose.
After use
Stop the blower device.
Doff the unit. Carry out the necessary maintenance for the blower device and recharge the battery.
Keep the blower device always on recharge. Overcharging of battery is automatically prevented.
Take care never to short circuit the terminals (the positive and negative poles of the battery or
recharging device must never touch each other). Protect the battery from mechanical damage and
water.
6. Maintenance and storage
The blower device shall be serviced at least once a year by a Service Center authorized by Scott
(http://www.scottsafety.com).
See WEEE. A very contaminated blower device as well as used lters are special refuse and shall
be disposed of according to the ltered substances (gases or particles).
Store protected from direct sunlight, at -10...+50 °C and relative humidity (RH) under 75 % (sealed
lters RH max. 95 %).
Clean with a damp cloth or sponge. Also clean the surface of the blower switch’s slide area.
Regular cleaning extends the switch’s service life and contributes to reliable operation.
Do not use solvents (e.g. acetone, turpentine) or hot water. Never clean with compressed air or
compressed water.
If dif culties with electric contact arise, clean the battery poles and blower’s contact springs e.g.
with steel wool.
Replace worn-out lters. Always replace all lters at the same time.
Check that the breathing hose is undamaged and replace a broken one. Replace other parts when
necessary.
Only use original spare parts.
Maintenance of the facepieces is described in the respective Instructions for Use.
Note!
o Clogged lters increase motor load and shorten the motor life.
o The battery’s capacity is reduced over time. Deterioration is accelerated by storage in a warm
place.
