Installation
Unloading and Placement
1. Upon receipt of machinery, please examine for any damage that may have occurred during
shipment. Report damage immediately to the freight carrier and Scott Equipment.
2. When installing the Crusher, it is very important to have it securely bolted. The structural
integrity of the Crusher depends on the manner in which it was installed. It is impossible to
assume liability for incorrectly bolting the Crusher to the structural support system. If you have
any questions, please call the service representative.
3. The rotors of the Crusher must turn in the correct rotation for efficient operation. Please check
the rotation arrow on the drive end of the Crusher to ensure the machine will be wired to move
the rotors in the correct rotation.
Wiring
1. All wiring must be performed by a qualified electrician. If problems develop with electrical
components supplied by Scott Equipment contact service personnel immediately. Repairs are
not to be made without written authorization from Scott Equipment. Failure to comply to this
could void the manufacturer's warranty. You will be contacted by the component manufacturer
with a recommended action.
2. When wiring the motors on the machine, determine that proper electrical support components
are being used which match the Voltage and Amperage rating of the motors. All explosion proof
motors and components should have UL listings on them. This manual includes a motor
manufacturer's installation and maintenance flyer. This will list the proper wiring diagrams,
voltage, phase, and frequency requirements. In addition, this information is available on the
motor nameplate.
3. Problems can arise due to insufficient voltage and undersized thermal relays. Insist on wiring
that is heavy enough such that voltage drop at full load will not exceed 5% of the nameplate
voltage.
4. Proper motor rotation is critical. Be sure the motors are wired to rotate in the correct direction.
Failure to do so could results in serious damage to the equipment.
5. Please note that if safety switches are supplied with the Crusher, they must also be wired for a
safe operation. The micro switches supplied must be located on the Crusher according to the
enclosed drawing. They are to be wired so that the Crusher will not operate when the cover is
removed or open.
