The SCUF Prestige™ Wireless/Wired Professional Controller is a high-performance gaming controller designed for Xbox One™ and Windows, offering both wireless (Bluetooth™) and wired (USB) connectivity. It aims to enhance gameplay by providing advanced customization and ergonomic features, allowing gamers to optimize their controller for individual preferences and play styles.
The core function of the SCUF Prestige™ controller is to provide a customizable and high-performance input device for gaming. It achieves this through several innovative features that allow users to adapt the controller to their specific needs, ultimately aiming to improve response time, hand use, and overall gaming experience.
The SCUF Prestige™ controller boasts a comprehensive suite of usage features designed to give gamers an edge:
Paddle Control System (P1, P2, P3, P4): This system allows users to utilize more of their hands by keeping their thumbs on the thumbsticks, which shortens response time between actions. The four paddles can be mapped to various buttons or controller functions, including bumpers and Menu/View buttons. Paddles can be easily removed, replaced, or customized by lifting them slightly from their base and sliding them up to release, or aligning them with the controller channel and pushing down until a "click" is heard for replacement.
Electro-Magnetic Remapping (EMR): The included EMR Mag Key enables easy remapping of any paddle to one of fourteen functions: A, B, X, Y, Left D-Pad, Right D-Pad, Up D-Pad, Down D-Pad, LS, RS, Menu, View, LB, and RB. This offers ultimate gaming flexibility. To remap, the EMR Mag Key is placed on the back of the controller between the inner paddles (P2 and P3), with the SCUF logo facing the back. While holding the paddle to be remapped, the desired controller function or button is simultaneously pressed and held. Releasing the button/function then the paddle completes the remapping. The EMR Mag Key must remain magnetically attached during the process. Note that remapping to the Xbox button or triggers (LT/RT) will be ignored.
Trigger Control System: This system comprises two modules: Adjustable Hair Triggers and Quick Shift Trigger Stops, both designed to reduce latency and eliminate unnecessary trigger travel.
Customizable Thumbstick Area: SCUF® thumbsticks are interchangeable and securely lock in place with a removable magnetic faceplate. They come in various lengths and shapes to accommodate different hand sizes and provide a larger, grippier surface for improved accuracy and control. To swap thumbsticks, the faceplate is removed by lifting it from the controller chassis using the finger notch on the top right side. The current thumbstick is lifted off its shaft, and the new thumbstick is aligned and pressed firmly to secure. The faceplate is then realigned and pushed to secure until a "click" is heard. The tail of the SCUF logo on the thumbstick should be positioned at the bottom left when properly installed.
Anti-Friction Rings: These rings can be swapped out and replaced. Made from high-grade self-lubricating materials, they provide a pro-grade finish, allowing the thumbstick to glide smoothly on contact. To swap, the faceplate is removed, the ring is pushed from the inside of the front faceplate until it releases, and a new ring is pushed into place from the front side, aligning the teeth. The faceplate is then reattached. If rings become dislodged during faceplate attachment, they should be pressed back into the faceplate until a "click" is heard.
Interchangeable Magnetic Faceplate: This feature allows for customization of the controller's style. It can be removed by lifting it from the controller chassis using the finger notch on the top right side. To swap, the faceplate is removed, the new faceplate is aligned with the controller, and pushed to secure until a "click" is heard.
Wireless/Wired Connectivity: The controller supports both Bluetooth™ wireless and USB wired connections for Xbox One™ and Windows.
Charging: The controller is recommended to be charged via the Xbox One™ system to prevent damage. Charging involves connecting the Micro-USB cable to the controller and a USB port on the Xbox One™ console. Expected charge time is four hours, providing up to 30 hours of play depending on use. Active vibration and Impulse Triggers will decrease play time.
The SCUF Prestige™ controller includes a reset function for troubleshooting and general care guidelines:
Reset Button: In case of controller issues, a reset can often resolve the problem. The Reset Button is located beneath the inner right paddle (P2) and can be pressed using the provided SCUF Key (0.9mm) or a paper clip. Pressing this button will restart the controller. Instructions for removing and replacing paddles (if needed to access the reset button) are provided in the Paddle Control System section.
Cleaning: The controller should only be cleaned using a dry cloth. It should not be exposed to water or other types of moisture to reduce the risk of fire or shock.
Battery Care: The manual provides warnings against improper battery use, which could lead to serious injury, death, or property damage. Users are advised not to crush, open, puncture, mutilate, heat above 95°F (35°C), apply direct heat to, or dispose of the controller in a fire. It should not be left in direct sunlight for extended periods, such as on a car dashboard. Battery fluid is corrosive, and contact with skin or clothes requires immediate flushing with water and medical attention if swallowed.
General Controller Care: Users are warned not to immerse the controller in water, charge it directly to wall outlets or car cigarette-lighter sockets, strike, throw, step on, or subject it to severe physical shock. Piercing the casing or attempting to disassemble or modify the controller in any way (beyond interchangeable components) is prohibited. Recharging near fire or extremely hot conditions is also advised against. Only SCUF® approved components should be used with the controller.
Micro-USB Cable Care: Warnings are provided to prevent serious injury or death related to the Micro-USB cable. Users should not step on or crush the cable, pinch or sharply bend it (especially where it connects to the controller and console), jerk, knot, or abuse it. Children or pets should not be allowed to play with or chew on the cable. When disconnecting, always pull on the console connector, not the cord. Use should stop immediately if the cable is damaged. The cable should be located to prevent trip or entanglement hazards.
