Overview

The Sealey TST10 Temporary Puncture Repair Kit is designed for repairing punctures in tubeless tyres, particularly those on agricultural and off-road vehicles. It can also serve as a temporary or emergency fix for punctures on cars and commercial vehicles, allowing the tyre to be repaired without removal from the wheel. It is crucial to note that this kit is not to be used as a permanent repair for road vehicles.

Function Description:

The kit provides the necessary tools and materials to quickly seal a puncture in a tubeless tyre. The process involves preparing the puncture site, inserting a repair strip coated with glue, and then securing the strip within the tyre to create a seal. This allows for immediate repair, enabling the vehicle to be moved or used until a permanent repair can be performed.

Important Technical Specifications:

  • Model No.: TST10
  • Contents: The kit includes a rasp, an insertion needle, 30 repair strips, and 20g of glue.
  • Glue Volume: The Repair Solution (glue) contents do not exceed 125 ml.

Usage Features:

The kit's operation is straightforward and designed for quick application:

  1. Object Removal: If an object caused the puncture, it must be removed from the tyre.
  2. Collar Attachment: A collar is fitted onto the insertion needle by loosening a grub screw with a hex key.
  3. Puncture Preparation: The puncture hole is cleaned and widened using the rasp.
  4. Strip Insertion: A repair strip is fitted into the middle of the insertion needle, with 50% protruding from each end.
  5. Glue Application: The repair strip is covered with the provided glue.
  6. Tyre Insertion: The insertion needle, with the glued strip, is pushed most of the way through the tyre, leaving approximately 20mm of the strip sticking out.
  7. Needle Removal: As the insertion needle is pulled back out, the collar is pushed down to nip the strip, ensuring the strip remains in the tyre.
  8. Finishing: A loop and two ends of the strip will protrude from the tyre, which then need to be cut off.
  9. Storage: After use, the kit items should be cleaned, the protector removed from the insertion needle, and the kit stored in a safe, childproof location.
