Overview

This document is a user manual for an Ice Cream Machine, specifically the Soft Ice Cream Machine Series, including models ET-BQL-808, ET-BQL-838, and ET-BQL-S22, as well as models for hard ice cream.

Function Description

The primary function of this device is to produce soft or hard ice cream. It operates by chilling and stirring a prepared ice cream pulp until it reaches the desired consistency. The machine features a production mode, a washing mode, and a hardness setting to control the ice cream's texture. Some models also include a precooling function.

The production process involves inserting expansion tubes into feed basins, pouring ice cream pulp into the basins, and then initiating production by pressing the "PRODUCE" key. The stirrer motor, compressor, and condenser fans activate, chilling the pulp. Ice cream is typically ready for discharge in 15 to 20 minutes. The machine can discharge single-color ice cream from the left and right discharge holes, and a rainbow-colored mixture from the middle hole, which combines pulp from both drums.

The machine is designed to stop automatically when the ice cream reaches a preset hardness, indicated by an "OVERLOAD" indicator. It will restart automatically after about 5 minutes, or production can be resumed manually by pressing the "OVERLOAD RESET" key or pulling a discharge handle (except for model A11, which lacks auto-reset).

A counter tracks the number of ice cream servings made, up to "999," and can be reset to "000" using an electronic lock switch and key.

    • Refrigerant/fill: R22/R404A / 1kg
    • Output/L/H: 11-16kg / 18-25L
    • Dimensions (mm): 540×770×1480
    • N.W. (kg): 145

General Specifications:

  • Output measurement conditions: 25°C environmental temperature and 7°C feed stock temperature.
  • Output of cups per hour is based on 60-70 grams per cup.
  • Refrigerant: Either R134A or R404A can be used for all machines.
  • Feed stock temperature range: 7°C to 40°C.
  • Power Specifications (Single Phase): 240V/50Hz, Voltage Fluctuation: 198V-240V.
  • Power conductor connection area: Not less than 2.5 m² to prevent overloading and voltage drop.

Usage Features

Installation:

  • The machine must be installed on a dry, firm, and level floor.
  • Maintain a minimum distance of 50cm from any heat source over 70°C.
  • Keep the machine away from rain and direct sunlight.
  • Ensure at least 30cm of space on both sides for proper ventilation and 1.5m from the hot air exhaust outlet for heat dissipation. Avoid placing objects that could be sucked by airflow near the exhaust.
  • After transportation, allow the machine to rest for 24 hours before initial operation to mitigate vibration effects.

Electrical Precautions:

  • Install an earthing device in accordance with National Security Standards for electrical equipment.
  • Use only the specified feed line, wiring method, and equipment.
  • Ensure the plug is properly inserted into the socket to prevent loose connections, overheating, and fire.
  • Avoid using long extension cables between the power cord plug and the socket to prevent overheating, fire, shock, and other accidents.
  • Install a short-circuit and leakage protective device on the feed line.

Hygiene:

  • Strict disinfection procedures are essential to prevent food contamination.
  • Keep the machine clean and immediately remove any deteriorated material.
  • Washing and disinfecting procedures must strictly follow the manual.

Operation:

  • Production: After preparing the pulp and inserting expansion tubes, press the "PRODUCE" key. The machine will automatically stop when the ice cream reaches the preset hardness.
  • Discharge: Pulling a handle on the discharge block stops the related stirrer and dispenses ice cream. The left and right holes dispense single colors, while the middle hole dispenses a rainbow mix.
  • Pulp Level: Monitor pulp level in the stirrer drum during discharge; low levels can cause noise and damage the stirrer shaft. Check for choked expansion tubes.
  • Overload Reset: If the "OVERLOAD" indicator is on, the machine will restart automatically after 5 minutes. For immediate restart (except A11), press "OVERLOAD RESET" or pull a discharge handle. Avoid frequent resets if ice cream is not discharged, or if a large quantity has just been discharged, to prevent machine damage.
  • Hardness Setting: Hardness is factory-set but can be adjusted based on recipe.
    • Step Adjuster Models: Open the side panel to access the step adjuster in the electrical box. Adjust to a softer step if the machine doesn't stop at desired hardness, or to a harder step if ice cream isn't hard enough. Allow the machine to run for at least one minute before adjusting to the next step. The adjuster has 9 steps, with hardness increasing numerically.
    • Control Panel Models: Press the "SET" key for over 2 seconds until the display flashes. Use "+" or "—" keys to adjust hardness (1 to 15 steps, 15 being hardest, 1 softest). Press "PRODUCE" or "WASH" to save and exit.
  • Time Setting (for models with time setting operation): In Stop mode, press the "time +" or "—" key. The display will flash the last set time. Adjust the time in 1-minute increments (1 to 20 minutes). If no key is pressed for 5 seconds, the system exits time setting mode, saving the last value.
    • Caution: Setting too long a time can make ice cream too hard, causing the machine to stop and alarm ("L: L"). In this case, power off and on after at least 1 minute, then adjust production time.

Maintenance Features

General Maintenance:

  • Keep the machine clean and neat after use, and ensure it is managed by a professional.
  • After each operation, clean all parts that come into contact with ice cream (discharge block, stirrer drum, stirrer shaft, expansion tube, feed basin, etc.). Air dry parts for next use.
  • Regularly check belt tightness; adjust the center distance between the pulley and stirrer motor if loose.
  • If the machine is not in use for a long time, turn the main switch to "OFF" to put it in standby mode.

Washing Before Production:

  1. Dismount the discharge block by turning the four plastic set nuts counter-clockwise.
  2. Wash the feed basin, stirrer shaft, and expansion tube with detergent or disinfectant liquid.
  3. Place the discharge block in the cleaning liquid, push and pull the handle 2-3 times. Dismount the cross bar, pull out the piston, and clean both.

Washing After Production:

  1. Pour water into the feed basin. Press the "WASH" key to run the stirrer for 3-5 minutes until all ice cream residue in the drum melts. Discharge the water by pulling the handle. Repeat several times.
  2. Wash the discharge block by repeating the "Wash Before Production" steps.

Troubleshooting (Analytical Sheet for Obstacle): The manual includes a detailed troubleshooting guide covering common issues such as:

  • Machine not running: Power supply failure, damaged power switch, no power to control circuit, no DC12V supply, overload protection tripped.
  • Refrigeration system not working: Temperature reached preset value, low supply voltage, small power cable section, damaged compressor start capacitor, damaged compressor, overload protection tripped, malfunction of logic circuit, refrigerant pipe leakage.
  • Mixer not working: Damaged capacitor for the motor, damaged motor, overload protection circuit tripped.
  • Overload indicator on/switched on frequently: Too much water/less sugar in formula, ice cream too hard, damaged gearbox, overload protection circuit tripped.
  • Low output: Airflow inlet/outlet too close to wall, lack of refrigerant, evaporating temperature not high enough, clogged/frozen refrigeration piping.
  • Material/water leaking: Material/water leaking from discharge block, reducer, or condensate from copper pipe of refrigeration system.
  • No ice cream discharge: Mixer cylinder empty, ice cream too hard, handle not opening enough, mixer motor not working, travel switch not working, no mixer screw mounted.

For each obstacle, the manual provides potential reasons, analysis, and remedies, such as changing damaged parts, adjusting settings, checking circuits, or refilling refrigerant.
