This document is an installation and operating manual for a Seasons portable air conditioner, specifically models 304002 and 304003.
Function Description
The Seasons portable air conditioner is designed to provide cooling and dehumidification for indoor spaces. It operates in various modes including COOL, DRY, and FAN. The unit is equipped with wheels for easy mobility and can be controlled via a control panel on the unit or a remote controller. It features an exhaust hose system for expelling hot air, which is required for COOL mode operation. The unit also includes a water collection tray for condensed water, with a "P1" error code indicating when the tray is full and requires draining.
Important Technical Specifications
- Models: 304002, 304003
- Refrigerant: R32/R290 (specific type and amount vary by model, refer to unit label)
- Power Cord: Equipped with a three-prong grounding plug.
- Fuse Specifications (PCB): T3.15A/250V (example, specific to circuit board).
- Ambient Temperature Range for Unit Operating:
- Cool Mode: 62°F ~ 95°F (17°C ~ 35°C)
- Dry Mode: 55°F ~ 95°F (13°C ~ 35°C)
- Exhaust Duct Dimensions (for energy rating): Diameter 150mm, Length 1.5m (for standard installation). Some models may use 2 exhaust ducts (Diameter 150mm, Length 1.5m + Diameter 130mm, Length 1.5m) for 3-meter extended exhaust.
- Minimum Room Area: Varies based on refrigerant amount (e.g., >0.0836 and ≤0.1045 kg requires 5 m², up to >0.2926 and ≤0.3135 kg requiring 15 m² for R290 refrigerant).
- Temperature Settings: Adjustable from 17°C/62°F to 30°C/88°F (or 86°F) in 1°C/2°F (or 1°F) increments.
- Drain Connector: 5/8-inch universal female mender with 3/4-inch hose (for continuous drainage).
Usage Features
- Control: Can be operated using the unit's control panel or a remote controller (remote controller operations are detailed in a separate instruction manual).
- Modes:
- COOL Mode: Provides cooling. Users can set the desired temperature and fan speed.
- DRY Mode: Dehumidifies the room. Fan speed and temperature are not adjustable, with the fan operating at low speed. Windows and doors should be kept closed for optimal dehumidifying.
- FAN Mode: Circulates air without cooling. Fan speed is adjustable, but temperature is not.
- Sleep Operation: (Remote control only) Gradually increases the set temperature over 60 minutes and maintains it for 7 hours before returning to the original setting. Unavailable in FAN or DRY modes.
- Constant Fan Function: In COOL or DRY modes, pressing the Fan button for 3 seconds activates/deactivates constant fan operation. When on, the fan runs continuously; when off, the fan cycles with the compressor.
- Auto-Restart: If power is interrupted, the unit will automatically restart with the previous settings once power resumes.
- Air Flow Direction Adjustment: The horizontal louver can be manually adjusted to the desired position.
- Protection Feature: After stopping, the unit cannot be restarted for 3 minutes to protect internal components.
- Water Drainage:
- Continuous Drainage: For dehumidifying modes, the drain plug can be removed, and a drain hose connected to direct water to a floor drain.
- Manual Drainage: When the internal bottom tray is full ("P1" error code), the unit will beep and stop cooling/dehumidifying. The unit must be moved to a drain location, the bottom drain plug removed, and water drained. The plug must be firmly reinstalled before resuming operation.
- Installation: Includes a window installation kit with an exhaust hose assembly and adjustable window sliders for hung or sliding windows. Proper sealing with foam strips is crucial to prevent air and insect entry. Minimum clearances from walls (30cm/12inch) and obstacles (50cm/19.7inch) for the horizontal louver are required.
Maintenance Features
- Safety First: Always unplug the unit before cleaning or servicing. Do not use flammable liquids or chemicals, or wash the unit under running water.
- Air Filter Cleaning: The air filter should be cleaned every 2 weeks for optimal performance. Operating without a filter can lead to clogging and reduced performance.
- Unit Cleaning: Clean the unit's exterior with a damp, lint-free cloth and mild detergent, then dry with a lint-free cloth. Avoid harsh cleansers, wax, or polish. Be careful around controls to prevent water ingress.
- Water Collection Tray: Drain immediately after a "P1" error or before storage to prevent mold.
- Grill Cleaning: Periodically wipe down the grill, especially in households with animals, to prevent blocked airflow from pet hair.
- Storage (When Not In Use):
- Drain the water collection tray.
- Run the unit in FAN mode for 12 hours in a warm room to dry it and prevent mold.
- Turn off and unplug the unit.
- Clean and reinstall the air filter.
- Remove batteries from the remote control.
- Store in a cool, dark place away from direct sunlight or extreme heat.
- Troubleshooting Tips: A table is provided to diagnose common issues such as "P1" error (full water tray), "E0" (EEPROM error), "E1" (room temperature sensor error), "E2" (evaporator temperature sensor error), "E4" (display panel communication error), dirty air filter, blocked exhaust hose, low refrigerant, incorrect temperature settings, open windows/doors, and noisy operation.
Safety Precautions
The manual emphasizes critical safety precautions, including:
- Proper grounding and voltage.
- Installation on a flat, sturdy surface.
- Keeping the unit free from obstructions.
- Not modifying the power cord or using extension cords.
- Avoiding shared outlets with other appliances.
- Not installing in wet rooms or near combustible gas.
- Not operating a dropped or damaged unit.
- Maintaining at least 1 meter space from combustible materials for units with electric heaters.
- Unplugging immediately if the unit is knocked over or during thunderstorms.
- Ensuring all wiring is per the wiring diagram.
- Properly securing drain plugs when continuous drainage is not in use.
- Supervision of children during use and maintenance.
- Replacing damaged supply cords with manufacturer-approved parts.
- Disconnecting from power before cleaning or maintenance.
- Not running cords under carpeting or furniture.
- Not using the fan with solid-state speed control devices.
- Observing national wiring regulations.
- Contacting authorized service technicians for repair or installation.
- Not covering or obstructing grilles.
- Not using hazardous chemicals or operating near inflammable substances.
- Transporting and storing the unit in a vertical position on a stable, level surface.
- For units using flammable refrigerants (R32/R290), specific warnings are provided regarding storage in well-ventilated areas, avoiding ignition sources, and requiring certified technicians for installation, service, maintenance, and recycling. Leak detection and repair procedures for flammable refrigerants are also detailed.
