Overview

This document describes the Sencor SAC MT1411C Portable Air Conditioner, providing detailed information on its function, technical specifications, usage, and maintenance.

Function Description

The Sencor SAC MT1411C is a portable air conditioner designed for use in homes, offices, and similar areas. It offers multiple operating modes including cooling, dehumidification, and fan-only operation, as well as an automatic mode that adjusts settings based on room temperature. The appliance features an automatic condensate evaporation system, reducing the need for frequent draining under normal operating conditions. However, in high humidity environments or extended dehumidification mode, the built-in condensate tank may fill, triggering an error code ("P1") and requiring manual drainage.

The unit is equipped with automatically-tilting horizontal flaps for air flow direction control and can be operated via a control panel on the unit or a remote control. Key functions include:

  • Cooling Mode: Allows users to set a desired temperature between 17 °C and 30 °C and adjust fan speed (low, medium, fast, or automatic).
  • Dehumidification Mode: Operates at a fixed low fan speed to remove moisture from the air. Temperature and fan speed cannot be adjusted in this mode.
  • Automatic Mode: Automatically selects the appropriate operating mode (cooling, dehumidification, or fan) and fan speed based on the set temperature and the current room temperature.
  • Fan Mode: Circulates air without cooling or dehumidifying, offering adjustable fan speeds.
  • Sleep Function: Gradually increases the set temperature by 1 °C after 30 minutes (in cooling mode) and again after another 30 minutes, maintaining the new temperature for 7 hours before reverting to the initial setting. This function is not available in fan and dehumidification modes.
  • Automatic Start and Shut-off Function: Allows users to program specific times for the unit to turn on or off, with settings adjustable in 30-minute or 1-hour increments up to 24 hours.
  • Flap Angle Setting: The SWING button on the remote control can be used to adjust the angle of the flaps or activate automatic oscillation.
  • Automatic Restart: In case of a power outage, the unit will automatically resume operation with its previous settings once power is restored.

Important Technical Specifications

  • Power Supply: 220-240 V ~ / 50 Hz
  • Cooling Power Output: 13,307 Btu/hour
  • Power Input: 1,500 W
  • Rating Power: 1,890 W
  • Current Consumption: 6.7 A
  • EER Cooling Factor: 2.6
  • Dehumidification Capacity: 3.74 litres/hour
  • Refrigerant Type and Weight: R290/280 g (R290 is an environmentally friendly refrigerant gas)
  • Air Flow Volume: 420 / 380 / 330 (high / medium / low setting)
  • Noise Level: 65 dB (A) (high setting), representing a level A of sound power with respect to a reference sound power of 1 pW.
  • Maximum Permitted Value of Excess Operating Pressure: Suction/exhaust part of the cooling circuit 2.6 / 1.0 MPa
  • Dimensions (w x d x h): 481 x 392 x 769 mm
  • Weight: 35 kg (net)
  • Operating Temperature: 17-30 °C
  • Recommended Room Area: 18-26 m²

The appliance must be located in rooms with an area greater than 14 m² due to the type of refrigerant gas used.

Usage Features

The portable air conditioner is designed for ease of use with both a control panel and a remote control.

  • Installation: The unit should be placed on a dry, stable, smooth, and horizontal surface, maintaining at least 30 cm distance from walls or other obstacles for optimal efficiency. It is equipped with travel wheels for mobility, which should be secured with stoppers when stationary.
  • Flexible Air Exhaust Hose: The flexible air exhaust hose (B1) is crucial for cooling and dehumidification modes. It connects to the air outlet (A10) and can be installed into a window using adapter B7 or a wall using adapter B2. Proper installation prevents kinks and ensures efficient operation.
  • Condensate Drainage: The unit features an automatic condensate evaporation system. However, if the internal tank fills (indicated by error code "P1"), it must be manually drained via the bottom tank drain hole (A17) using the drain hose (B5). For continuous drainage, especially in high humidity, the top drain outlet (A9) can be used with a 3/4" hose.
  • Remote Control: The remote control requires two AAA/LR03 batteries. It should be pointed directly at the remote control sensor (A4) on the unit, within an 8-meter range, without obstacles.
  • Safety Precautions: Users are advised not to expose themselves to cold air currents for prolonged periods, not to cover air inlets or outlets, and to ensure sufficient air circulation around the unit. The appliance should not be used with solid-state speed control devices.

Maintenance Features

Regular maintenance is essential for the appliance's longevity and efficient operation.

  • Cleaning Air Filters: The top (A7) and bottom (A11) air filters should be cleaned at least once every 14 days, or more frequently in dusty environments or households with pets. Filters can be cleaned with a vacuum cleaner or washed by hand in lukewarm water with neutral detergent, then air-dried. The unit should never be operated without properly installed, dry air filters.
  • Draining Condensate: The water collection tank must be drained immediately when the "P1" error code appears and before storing the appliance to prevent mould formation.
  • Cleaning Outer Case: The outer case should be cleaned with a soft cloth dipped in a solution of lukewarm water and neutral detergent, then wiped dry. Abrasive cleaning products, solvents, petrol, or water spraying/submerging should be avoided.
  • Storage: Before storing, the unit should be run in fan mode for approximately 12 hours in a warm room to dry out any internal moisture and prevent mould. The flexible hose should be disconnected and stored, all condensate drained, and air filters cleaned. Batteries should be removed from the remote control. Store the appliance in a cool, dry, and dark location.
  • Troubleshooting: The manual provides a troubleshooting guide for common issues and error messages (E1, E2, E3, E4, P1), advising users to contact an authorised service centre if problems persist after basic checks.

The Sencor SAC MT1411C is designed for user convenience and safety, with clear instructions for installation, operation, and maintenance to ensure optimal performance.
