This document describes the Sencor Kitchen Scale, available in multiple models including SKS 30WH, SKS 31GR, SKS 32BL, SKS 33OR, SKS 34RD, SKS 35VT, SKS 36YL, SKS 37GG, and SKS 38RS. It serves as a user's manual providing essential information for safe and effective operation.
Function Description
The Sencor Kitchen Scale is designed for household use to accurately measure the weight of food items and ingredients. It features an "Auto-on" function, allowing the scale to turn on automatically when a sufficiently heavy item (approximately 0.5 kg) is placed on the weighing platform, or by pressing down on the platform with a hand. This auto-on feature is particularly useful for placing a bowl on the scale before weighing ingredients. The scale can be turned off manually by pressing the "TARE / OFF" button, or it will automatically shut off after approximately one minute of inactivity or displaying "0.0" on the LCD. This automatic shut-off helps conserve battery life.
The scale supports multiple units of measurement, including grams (g), milliliters (ml), pounds and ounces (lb:oz), and fluid ounces (fl.oz). Users can switch between these units during weighing by pressing the "UNIT" button.
A key feature is the additional weighing function, often referred to as "TARE." This allows users to weigh multiple ingredients consecutively in the same container without emptying it. After placing an item on the scale and allowing it to stabilize, pressing the "TARE / OFF" button resets the display to zero, effectively subtracting the weight of the previous item or container. This enables the user to add subsequent ingredients and measure only their net weight. To turn off the TARE function, all items should be removed from the scale, which will display a negative value, and then the "TARE / OFF" button should be pressed to reset the scale to zero.
The scale includes an overload indicator, displaying "EEEE" if the maximum capacity of 5 kg is exceeded. In such cases, the weighed item should be removed immediately to prevent damage to the scale. A "Lo" symbol on the display indicates that the batteries need to be replaced.

Usage Features
- Initial Setup: Before first use, users must open the battery cover on the underside of the scale and remove the insulation strip protecting the battery during transport.
- Turning On: The scale can be activated by pushing down on the weighing platform with a hand or by placing an item of sufficient weight (approx. 0.5 kg) on it.
- Weighing Procedure: Place the food on the plate, select the desired unit using the "UNIT" button if necessary, and read the weight displayed.
- Tare Function: For weighing multiple ingredients, place the first item, press "TARE / OFF" to zero the display, then add the next item. Repeat as needed.
- Troubleshooting: If the scale displays random values or fails to turn off automatically, a restart is recommended by removing the batteries for about 10 seconds and then reinserting them.
Maintenance Features
- Cleaning: The outer parts of the appliance can be cleaned using a soft cloth dipped in lukewarm water.
- Battery Replacement: When the "Lo" indicator appears, replace the three 1.5V AAA batteries. Ensure correct polarity as indicated in the battery compartment.
- Storage: If the scale will not be used for an extended period, remove the batteries to prevent leakage and irreparable damage. Store the scale in a horizontal position to protect its sensitive sensors.
- Environmental Considerations: Keep the product away from extreme temperatures, direct sunlight, excessive humidity, dusty environments, heaters, open fires, or strong magnetic fields, as these can affect accuracy and product lifespan.
- Disposal: Used batteries should not be disposed of with regular household waste but taken to appropriate waste collection and recycling centers. The product itself, when it reaches the end of its life, should also be disposed of at designated collection points for electrical and electronic equipment waste, in accordance with local regulations. This ensures proper recycling and prevents negative environmental impact.
