Patients implanted with magnetic externally programmable
CSF shunt valves may have a risk of experiencing an
unintended change in their valve setting when exposed to
strong magnetic fields.
The receiver (loudspeaker) of hearing aids, the Lyric
SoundLync, the Lyric programming wand and the
MiniControl contain static magnets. Keep a distance of 2
inches (approx. 5 cm) or more between the magnets and the
site of the implanted shunt valve.
WARNING: The hearing aids use a lithium button/coin
battery. These batteries are hazardous and can cause
severe or fatal injuries in 2 hours or less if they are
swallowed or placed inside any part of the body, whether
the battery is used or new! Keep out of the reach of
children, individuals with cognitive impairment, or pets. If
you suspect that a battery was swallowed or placed inside
any part of the body, immediately consult your physician
without any delay!
Your hearing aid(s) contain lithium-ion batteries with a Watt
hour rating <20Wh which have been tested according to UN
38.3 of the “UN Manual of Tests and Criteria” and should be
shipped in accordance with all the rules and regulations on
the safe shipment of lithium-ion batteries.
For charger, use only IEC 60950-1 *, IEC 62368-1 or
IEC 60601-1 certified equipment with an output rating of 5
VDC. Min. 500 mA.
Do not touch the contacts of the charger when powered.
