Why is the PCO2 reading too low on my Sentec SDM?
- JJames CooperOct 30, 2025
A low PCO2 reading on your Sentec Measuring Instruments might be due to several reasons: * Unstable barometric pressure during calibration: Ensure the SDM's barometric pressure reading is stable and within 5 mmHg (0.7 kPa) of a calibrated reference barometer during calibration. * Low PCO2 sensitivity of the sensor: Test the PCO2 sensitivity. If the test fails, re-membrane the sensor and repeat the test. If the problem persists, consult qualified personnel. * Defective SenTec TC Sensor: If the issue continues, the sensor may be defective and require replacement with original parts by authorized SenTec service technicians. * Defective SDM: If problem persists contact SenTec authorized service personnel. * Defective MPB (Multiparameterboard, SM1A): Replace MPB according to section ...
