The Shark Steam and Scrub Mop (S6002 Series) is a cleaning appliance designed for sealed hard floor surfaces, utilizing steam and rotating scrubbing pads to clean and sanitize.
Function Description:
The device functions as a steam mop that combines the power of steam with rotating Dirt Grip pads to scrub and clean floors. It is specifically designed for use on sealed hard floors such as laminate, hardwood, vinyl, marble, tile, and stone. The mop aims to loosen and lift dirt, perform basic and everyday cleaning, clean large areas, and tackle moderate to heavy traffic areas. It also offers a sanitization feature, which, under controlled test conditions, can sanitize surfaces when used in NORMAL mode with clean Dirt Grip pads.
Important Technical Specifications:
- Model Series: S6002
- Voltage: 220-240V~, 50/60Hz
- Watts: 1120W
- Water Tank Capacity: 320ml (Max Fill line on the flask)
- Steam Control: Intelligent Steam Controlâ„¢ with two settings: LIGHT and NORMAL.
- Pads: Dirt Grip pads, reusable and machine-washable microfibre.
- Safety Certifications: CE, UK CA, IPX4.
Usage Features:
- Assembly: The mop handle inserts into the steam mop body until it clicks. Dirt Grip pads are attached by aligning their plastic rings with the rotating discs on the nozzle and gently lowering the nozzle onto them until secured.
- Water Filling: A dedicated filling flask is provided to pour distilled water into the tank, ensuring the Max Fill line is not exceeded. The tank lid is then closed firmly.
- Power and Operation: After plugging into an electrical socket, the unit enters Standby Mode with two blinking indicator lights. The "Mode" button allows selection between LIGHT and NORMAL steam settings.
- Steam Control Settings:
- LIGHT Mode: Recommended for delicate surfaces like laminate, hardwood, and vinyl. It provides light cleaning and dusting, and helps loosen and lift light dirt.
- NORMAL Mode: Recommended for basic, everyday cleaning on marble, cleaning large areas of tile, and tackling moderate to heavy traffic areas on stone. In this mode, the pads spin faster, and more steam is produced.
- Cleaning Motion: The mop is operated with a forward and backward motion. The power pads engage when the handle is pulled towards the user.
- Sanitization: To sanitize, clean Dirt Grip pads are attached, the unit is plugged in, and the NORMAL setting is selected. After waiting 30 seconds for steam production, the unit is moved slowly and evenly over the area to be sanitized with continuous downward pressure, repeating at least 8 times over a three-minute period.
- Water Tank Empty Indication: The mop stops producing steam when the water tank is empty, requiring the unit to be unplugged before refilling.
- Standby Mode: If the handle is not reclined within 30 seconds of selecting a mode, the mop returns to standby. After mopping, pressing the mode button puts the unit back into Standby mode (blue light blinks), and lifting the handle to an upright position allows for unplugging.
- Manoeuvrability: The mop may exhibit a slight pull when cleaning near skirting boards, edges, or furniture, which is considered normal.
- Pre-cleaning Recommendation: It is recommended to sweep or vacuum floors prior to cleaning with the steam mop.
- Water Type: Distilled water is recommended to prolong the life of the steam mop.
Maintenance Features:
- Pad Removal: After use, the Dirt Grip pads should be allowed to cool completely before being pulled off the discs.
- Water Tank Emptying: Once the unit has cooled and steam has been released, the water tank should be emptied by opening the lid and pouring the water into a sink or bathtub.
- Storage: The steam mop should be stored in a dry, protected area after it has cooled and the steam has been released. It should never be left with damp or wet Dirt Grip pads on any floor for an extended period.
- Dirt Grip Pad Care:
- Pads should be machine-washed separately with warm water using liquid detergent.
- NEVER use bleach, powdered detergent, or fabric softeners, as these can damage the pads or reduce their cleaning performance and absorbency.
- Pads should be line-dried or tumble-dried on a low setting to extend the life of the microfibre fabric.
- Loose fibres on the pads indicate wear; these should be trimmed with scissors and NOT pulled to prevent the weave from coming undone.
- Pad Replacement: For optimal cleaning results, it is recommended to replace Dirt Grip pads every 3 to 4 months, as dirt, grease, friction, and repeated washing can degrade the fibres, potentially increasing the effort needed to push or pull the mop.
- Troubleshooting: A comprehensive troubleshooting guide is included to address common issues such as the mop not producing steam, intermittent steam, lack of steam setting, streaky floors, difficulty pushing/pulling, non-rotating discs, vibrating mop, and the steam mop turning off on its own.
