BEFORE USING THE MACHINE
ABOUT THE FIXING UNIT RELEASE LEVERS
If copying or printing when an envelope has been placed into the manual feed tray, wrinkling or smudged printing may occur
even if the envelope meets all of the required specifications. If this happens, it may be possible to solve the problem by
lifting up the fixing unit release levers to the "Weak pressure" positions. In such cases, operate the fixing unit release levers
by following the procedure given below.

Open the manual feed tray, and then
open the side cover.

Lift up the fixing unit release levers (2
places) as shown in the illustration.

Gently close the side cover.

After the envelope has passed through,
return the fixing unit release levers to
the "Normal" positions.
Caution
High temperatures are present in the fixing unit. Be extremely careful to avoid burns when operating the fixing unit
release levers.
When copying or printing using paper types other than envelopes, be sure to return these levers to the "Normal" positions. If
you carry out copying or printing without returning them to the "Normal" position, fixing problems, paper jams or other
problems may occur.
