IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
ENGLISH
To avoid burns, alw ays test food
temperature and stir before serving and
pay special attention to the temperature
of food and drink given to babies,
children or the elderly.
Temperature o f the co ntainer is no t a true
indicatio n o f the temperature o f the foo d o r drink;
always check the foo d temperature.
Always stand back fro m the o ven do o r when o pening,
to avoid burns fro m escaping steam and heat.
Slice stuffed baked foo ds after heating to release
steam and avo id burns.
Keep children away fro m the do o r to prevent them
burning themselves.
Do not touch the o ven do o r, o uter cabinet, rear
cabinet, o ven cavity, ventilatio n o penings,
accesso ries and dishes during GRILL,
CONVECTION , DUAL, PIZZA, POTATO and
INSTANT ACTION modes (except EASY
DEFRO ST) as they will beco me hot. Before
cleaning make sure they are not ho t.
To avoid misuse by children
WARNING: Only allow children to use the
oven w ithout supervision w hen adequate
instructions have been given so that the child
is able to use the oven in a safe w ay and
understands the hazards of improper use.
Do not lean o r swing o n the o ven do o r. Do not
play with the o ven o r use it as a toy.
Children should be taug ht all impo rtant safety
instructions: use o f po t holders, careful removal o f
foo d co verings; paying special attentio n to
packaging (e.g . self-heating materials) designed to
make fo o d crisp, as they may be extra hot.
Other w arnings
Never modify the o ven in any way.
Do not move the o ven while it is in o peration.
This o ven is fo r ho me fo od preparation o nly and
may o nly be used fo r co o king fo o d. It is no t
suitab le fo r co mmercial o r labo rato ry use.
To promote trouble-free use of your oven
and avoid damage.
Never o perate the o ven when it is empty except
where reco mmended in the o peratio n manual, see
Pag e 9 . Do ing so may damag e the o ven.
W hen using a bro wning dish or self-heating
material, always place a heat-resistant insulator
such as a po rcelain plate under it to prevent
damage to the turntable due to heat stress. The
preheating time specified in the dish’s instructions
must not be exceeded.
Keep the po wer supply co rd away fro m hea ted
surfaces, including the rear o f the o ven.
Do not attempt to replace the o ven lamp yo urself
o r allo w anyo ne who is not an electrician
autho rised by SHARP to do so. If the o ven lamp fails,
please co nsult yo ur dealer o r an autho rised SHARP
service agent.
If the po wer supply co rd o f this appliance is
damaged, it must be replaced with a special co rd.
The exchange must be made by an authorised
SHARP service ag ent.
To avoid the possibility of explosion and
sudden boiling:
WARNING: Liquids and other foods must
not be heated in sealed containers since
they are liable to explode.
Never use sealed co nta iners. Remo ve sea ls and
lids before use. Sealed co ntainers can explo de due
to a build up o f pressure even after the o ven has
been turned o ff.
Take ca re when micro waving liquids. Use a wide-
mouthed co ntainer to allo w bubbles to escape.
Never heat liquids in narrow necked
containers such as baby bottles, as this
may result in the contents erupting from the
container w hen heated and cause burns.
To prevent sudden eruption o f bo iling liquid and
po ssible scalding:
1. Stir liquid prio r to heating/ reheating.
2. It is advisable to insert a glass ro d o r similar utensil
into the liquid whilst reheating.
3. Let liquid sta nd in the o ven at the end o f co o king
time to prevent dela yed eruptive bo iling.
Do not cook eggs in their shells, and w hole
hard boiled eggs should not be heated in
microw ave ovens since they may explode
even after microw ave cooking has ended.
To cook or reheat eggs w hich have not
been scrambled or mix ed, pierce the yolks
and the w hites, or the eggs may explode.
Shell and slice hard boiled eggs before
reheating them in the microw ave oven.
Pierce the skin o f such foo ds as po tato es, sausag es
and fruit before co o king, o r they may explode.
To avoid the possibility of burns
Use po t holders or o ven g lo ves when remo ving foo d
fro m the o ven to prevent burns.
Always o pen co ntainers, po pco rn makers, o ven
co o king bag s, etc., away fro m the face and hands to
avoid steam burns.
