Overview

This document describes the Sheffield Appliances 8-in-1 Digital Cooking Master, model PLA1027, an appliance designed for various household cooking applications.

Function Description

The 8-in-1 Digital Cooking Master is a versatile kitchen appliance capable of performing multiple cooking functions. It features a non-stick heating pot and a transparent glass cover, allowing users to monitor the cooking process. The appliance is controlled via an LED display and a control panel with dedicated buttons for temperature, power, and timer adjustments.

The primary functions of this appliance include:

  • Keep Warm: Designed to maintain food at a warm temperature. Users place food directly into the non-stick heating pot, close the lid, and set the temperature to 80°C. The timer can be adjusted to the desired duration, after which the unit will beep and return to standby.
  • Slow Cook: Ideal for slow-cooking soups and other dishes. Food is placed in the non-stick heating pot, the lid is closed, and the temperature is set between 100-120°C. The timer can be adjusted, and it's recommended not to open the lid during the process to maintain moisture and heat.
  • Boil: For boiling food or rice. Food and the appropriate amount of water are placed in the non-stick heating pot, the lid is closed, and the temperature is set between 140-160°C. The timer can be adjusted as needed.
  • Deep Fry: For deep-frying. Oil is poured into the pan, ensuring it does not exceed the MAX line. The temperature is set between 180-200°C. Once the oil reaches the desired temperature, food is placed in the Fry Basket and slowly lowered into the pan. The timer can be adjusted during cooking.
  • Fry: For general frying tasks. The temperature is set between 200-220°C. The timer can be adjusted during the frying process.
  • Steam: For steaming food. The steam rack is placed in the non-stick heating pot with 2 cups of water below the rack. Food is placed on the rack, the lid is closed, and the temperature is set between 200-220°C. The timer can be adjusted during steaming.
  • Hot Pot: For hot pot cooking. Food is placed directly into the non-stick heating pot, and the temperature is set between 220-240°C. The timer can be adjusted during cooking.
  • Stir-fry: For stir-frying. The temperature is set between 220-240°C. Oil is poured into the non-stick pot, and food is added and stir-fried. The timer can be adjusted during the stir-fry process.
  • Grill: For grilling. The grill rack is placed in the non-stick heating pot, marinated chicken or other food is placed on the rack, and the lid is closed. The temperature is set between 220-240°C. The timer can be adjusted during grilling.

The appliance operates in a standby mode when first plugged in, indicated by a "beep" sound and "0:00" on the LED display. Users can select the desired temperature using the "TEMP" button, which defaults to 80°C and increases with each press up to 240°C before cycling back to 80°C. The "POWER" button starts the cooking process. The timer can be adjusted using the "+" and "-" buttons, with each press changing the time by 1 minute, or by 10-minute increments if held down. The maximum time setting is 9 hours and 59 minutes. To change the temperature during cooking, the unit must be returned to standby mode by pressing "POWER," then the new temperature selected, and "POWER" pressed again to restart.
