INSTALL THE UPPER SAW GUARD
(MARK V MODEL 500)
1. Slide (from left to right) the Upper Saw
Guard into the slots in the Mounting
Block, located beneath the Table on the
outfeed side.
2. Make sure that the Splitter is fully seated.
Tighten the Guard Knob.
3. Raise the Upper Guard and lay a Straight-
edge on the Worktable so that it touches
the Blade and the Splitter, as demon-
strated in Figure 100.

3. Use the 5/32" Allen Wrench to tighten
the Socket Head Screw on the Saw Guard
Collar, as in Figure 98.

ATTACH THE TIE BAR SHIELD
(MARK V MODEL 500)
1. Remove the Worktable from the Car-
riage and turn over.
2. Make sure the two Button Head Socket
Screws are engaged in the Tie Bar and
slip the Tie Bar Shield over them.
3. Use a 5/32" Allen Wrench to tighten the
Button Head Socket Screws. Remount
the Worktable on the MARK V.
