5 Installation
This section provides information about the installation and commissioning with regard to the
following:
Required documents
Personnel requirements
Tools, devices, and expendable materials to be used
Accident prevention
Recording and documentation.
5.1 Safety instructions for installation
Electrical Hazard – danger to life!
Touching live parts is fatal or causes serious physical injury.
It is the user’s responsibility to ensure all installation
procedures developed comply with all applicable safe work
practices.
Attend the local network rules.
To prevent damage to the RCU operators should always wear
ESD earth straps whilst operating the equipment if in a high
static environment.
The RCU requires earthing in accordance with the user’s
normal procedures.
5.2 Installation guidelines
The RCU installation occurs at the bottom of the pole and is not connected to high voltage. Subject
to local utility regulations installation can be completed by personnel with suitable low voltage
qualifications.
Earthing of the RCU is required in accordance with the user’s standard procedures.

1 x 24 mm A/F spanner
2 x 18 mm A/F spanner
