5.2.1 Structure of the S7-1500R redundant system
Configuration
The S7-1500R redundant system comprises the following components:
• 2 R-CPUs
• 2 SIMATIC Memory Cards
• PROFINET cable (redundancy connections, PROFINET ring)
• If applicable, IO devices
• optional load current supply
• optional system power supply (only via U-connector)
• optional communications processors CP 1543-1 (only via U- connector)
The S7-1500R redundant system should be mounted either on one shared rail or on two
separate rails. Connecting the PROFINET cable to the PROFINET interfaces X1 P2R of the CPUs
directly connects the two CPUs. Via the PROFINET interfaces X1 P1R of the CPUs you set up
the PROFINET ring from the first CPU via the IO devices to the second CPU.
