3 Pyrolitic smoldering fire (TF2)
3.1 General
During this type of acceptance test fire several beech wood sticks are heated on a
hotplate. This produces mainly visible, light-colored smoke and an almost
undetectable increase in temperature.
3.2 Infrastructure
z Heat source: Hotplate, diameter: approx. 220mm, with a heating
output of 2kW without built-in thermostat
z Combustible material: Dry beech wood sticks with the dimensions
10x20x35mm
z Auxiliaries: Flame-retardant underlying board, metal shovel and
bucket of water
z Safety: Extinguisher
