5  Familiarising yourself with your appliance
5.1 Controls
You can use the controls to configure all functions of your appliance and to obtain information about the operating
status.
Switching the appliance on or off
Switching the lighting on or off/
Setting the brightness
Decrease the fan setting
Increasing the fan setting/
Intensive mode 1, 2
Switching on the boost function
Switching on the fan run-on
6  Before using for the first time
Configure the settings for initial start-up. Clean the ap-
pliance and accessories.
6.1 Setting an operating mode
Your appliance is set to air extraction mode by default.
Note:When using it in circulating-air mode, you require
additional accessories.
When using it in circulating-air mode, set the operat-
ing mode.
7  Basic operation
7.1 Switching on the appliance

Pull out the filter pull-out.

Press ⁠.
a The appliance starts at fan setting2.
7.2 Switching off the appliance
1.
Press ⁠.

Slide in the filter pull-out.
7.3 Selecting a fan setting
Press ⁠or ⁠.
Note:When the filter pull-out is pushed in, only fan set-
tings 1, 2 and 3 can be selected.
7.4 Switching on intensive mode
If particularly strong odours or vapours develop, you
can use intensive mode.
1.
Press repeatedly until appears in the display.
2.
Press repeatedly until appears in the display.
a After approx. six minutes, the appliance automatic-
ally switches to a lower fan setting.
7.5 Switching off intensive mode
Press until the required fan setting is reached.
a Intensive mode is ended early.
7.6 Switching on the boost function
The boost function is a short-term maximum power set-
ting which can be activated in any fan setting.
Press ⁠.
a After approx. 20 seconds, the fan automatically
switches back to the fan setting that was previously
set.
