The Power Supply provides enough storage capacity to prevent controller reboot
during power failures of 500 mS or less. The Power Supply also includes super
capacitors, which power the time of day clock and SRAM for a minimum of 30 days
without batteries.
The Power Supply also includes two fuses accessible from the front. One fuse
protects the Service Voltage connection, while the second fuse protects the 24
VDC power output. These fuses are 5 millimeter, 2 amp slow blow glass cartridge
fuses available from any electronics distributor.
3.9 Expansion
3.9.1 Data Key and Communications Expansion
The left-most 4U-size slot is used to add an optional Data Key, two added RS-232
ports and/or fiber optic port (either multi-mode or single-mode). This expansion
option is ordered as a separate part number when the controller is ordered, or may
be ordered separately and installed later. Note that this expansion option is not
compatible with EPAC37XX or EPAC38XX controllers, which already use this slot.
