EPAC300-M50 SERIES CONTROLLER MECHANICAL ASSEMBLY
An exploded view of the EPAC300-M50 Series Controller is shown previously in
Figure 6. Each “Item” is identified by a numbered “balloon”, with the “balloon
string” attached to the item it identifies. Each item may be ordered separately from
Siemens as a replacement part. Refer to the Siemens part numbers for each item
listed in the “Parts” section later in this manual. The following is a description of
each item:
4.1 ITEM 1: EPAC300-M50 Series Chassis
• 15” Wide x 7” High x 9.5” Deep
• Injection-molded polycarbonate material, as used in poly signal heads
• Power Server Gray color with Gun Steel Blue trim
• Quality metal threaded inserts for all fasteners
• Integral molded mounting ears for expansion motherboard
• Integral molded card guides for 7 3U Eurocards plus 2 ATC modems
• Integral molded carrying handle for “one hand” transport
• Integral molded pocket inserts with adjustable feet to vary viewing angle
• Convection “chimney” for power supply cooling, directs heat away from circuits
4.2 ITEM 2: EPAC300-M50 Series Power Supply
• Single board construction
• 5 mm metric 2 amp slow blow fuse for primary protection (M51 & M52)
• 5 mm metric 2 amp slow blow fuse for 24 VDC protection (M52 only)
• Cool air intake on lower surface for convection cooling
4.3 ITEM 3: EPAC300-M50 Series Input / Output Assembly
Features Common to All EPAC300-M50 Series I/O Assemblies
• 15 Pin “D” connector for NEMA Port 1 serial communications to BIU
• 25 Pin “D” connector for NEMA Port 2 serial connection to computer or printer
• 9 Pin “D” connector for NEMA Port 3 modem connection (2 or 4 wire)
• EIA-232 connection to computer for upload or download to FLASH memory
• RJ-45 10 Base-T connector for Ethernet, including unique MAC address
• Infrared window for wireless communication to PDA or laptop PC
• Includes central processor unit on separate upgradeable module
• Replaceable front panel mounting clip
