7 Configuration
After you have installed the Danger Management System (DMS) and Composer, you
need to configure the DMS (follow product-specific
Installation Function &
Configuration Commissioning Guide
).
Once that is done, you perform the configuration procedures to get the NK8000s
communicating with the Danger Management System.

Note: You should have all hardware installed at the client site (such as control units,
all cables, wiring, and so on) before you perform the procedures in this section.
7.1 Configuration checklist
Verify that you have satisfied the items needed in the first checklist before proceeding
to the configuration checklist that follows.
The following abbreviations are used in the checklists:

Danger Management software installed (see DMS-ICC)
Composer installed (see DMS-CG)
Service PC, with Cat. 5 crossed twisted pair cable (if configuring at client’s site)
NK8000 unit(s)
Product-specific Installation, Configuration & Commissioning (ICC) manual
DMS Connectivity Guides (CG) Network, Fire and Intrusion
DMS Connectivity Guides Access Control and Video Connectivity (if applicable)
Configuring NK8000
1. Configure the DMS and the NK8000 network with Composer (see DMS-ICC, DMS-
CG).
2. Launch NW8202.
3. Configure [➙ 58] the NK82xx IP address(es) –
via NW8202.
4. Install [➙ 33] the NK82xx, connect subsyste
ms and network to NK82xx.
5. Contact Service Centre to download configuration to the NK82xx from remote via
Composer. FTP or Secure download modes can be applied (see CG).
6. Test [➙ 62] the configuration.

Install the NW8204 Maintenance Tool.
