      To improve the signal strength of your Sierra Wireless Modem, you can attach an external antenna (sold separately). Here’s how: 1. Remove the USB modem from your computer. 2. Flip open the rubber tab on the side of the modem. 3. Holding the antenna cable by the connector end, carefully push the connector into the corresponding connector on the modem. 4. Carefully insert the USB modem into your computer’s USB slot.

      If the PWR LED on your Sierra Wireless Modem goes off, then on, and stays red, this may happen under extreme usage conditions when you’re transmitting data in a coverage area with a weak signal. Wait until the PWR LED turns green. Then resume your connection. If the PWR LED still goes off, and then comes on again and stays red, charge the battery for at least 30 minutes.

      If your Sierra Wireless Modem is searching for service, it could be due to several reasons. If you're inside a building or near a structure that might be blocking the signal, try changing your computer's position or location. If Roam Mode is set to “Sprint,” make sure you're within the Sprint Power VisionSM or Sprint Vision network coverage area, or adjust the Roam Mode setting. Similarly, if Roam Mode is set to “Roam Only,” ensure you are roaming, or change the Roam Mode setting. If Network Mode is set to “1X Only” and only 1xEV-DO coverage is available, either move to an area with 1X coverage or change the setting to “Automatic” or “1xEV-DO Only.” The same applies if Network Mode is set to “1xEV-DO Only” and only 1X coverage is available; move to an area with 1xEV-DO coverage or change t...
