GAUGE

TEST

Select
an
IV.
set
of
the
appropriate
tubing
type
that
will
provide
approximately
60”
of
length
between
the
bottom
of
the
pump
and
the
distal
end
of
the
LV.
set.

Load
and
prime
the
I.V.
set.
Attach
a
standard
pressure
gauge
(30
psi
1.5%)
and
remove
all
air
from
the
tubing
and
gauge.
Itis
suggested
that
a
a
three-way
stopcock
valve
is
used
at
the
pressure
gauge
input.
Set
RATE
to
100
mi/hr
and
VOL.
LIMIT
to
15ml.
Start
the
pump
running.
d.
After
approximately
1
minute
close
the
stopcock
and
allow
pressure
to
build
up
between
the
pump
and
the
pressure
gauge.
e.
Verify
that
the
unit
indicated
an
occlusion
alarm
at
11
+
7psi.

UPSTREAM
OCCLUSION
TEST

solution

room
temperature
shall
be
70°F
to
80°F
for this
test.

set
RATE
to

set
VOL.
LIMIT
to

and
CLEAR
TOTAL
VOL.

Y-site
above
the
unit).
Attach
set
to
solution
source
and
prime.
Close
roller
clamp
12”
above
pump
and
load
set
into
unit.
NOTE:
It is
necessary
to
use
a
new
LV.
set
for
each
unit
tested
(or
a
section
of
LV.
set
from
the
closed
roller
clamp
[12”
above
pump]
to
the
bottom
of
the
pump
that
has
not
been
previously
used).
d.
Close
door
and
press
RUN/STOP
key
to
start
pump.
The
pump
shall
indicate
“PROX
OCCL”
message
before
“RATE
KVO”
message.
If
pump
fails
test,
contact
SIGMA
service
department.
NOTE:
If
“PROX OCCL”
alarms
within
0.2ml
from
start
or
any
alarm
occurs
during
the
test,
reload
tubing
(see
NOTE
above)
and
restart
test
(Unit
fails
if
>1
of
this
type
“PROX
OCCL”
alarm
occurs).
