12. Cleaning and
storage
Clean the device prior to its first use!
DANGER! Risk of electric
shock due to moisture!
~ The base unit13, mains power cable
and mains plug11 must not be im-
mersed in water or other liquids.
DANGER! Risk of electric
shock!
~ Pull the mains plug11 out of the wall
socket before you clean the device.
DANGER! Risk of injury from
burning!
~ Wait for the device to cool down before
cleaning.
WARNING! Risk of material damage!
~ Do not clean using sharp objects or
abrasive cleaning agents.
Clean the device after each use and re-
move all food residues.
12.1 Disassembling the
device
1. Pull the mains plug11 out of the wall
socket and allow the device to cool.
2. Pull the mains power cable11 out of
the port14 in the base unit13.
3. Remove the lid5 from the device.
4. Figure A: pull strongly to remove the
sealing ring25 from the underside of
the lid5.
5. Remove the pot7 from the base
unit13.
6. Pull the condensed water tank12 out
of the holder18.
12.2 Cleaning accessories in
the dishwasher
The following accessories can be cleaned in
the dishwasher:
- the pot7
- the sealing ring25
- the condensed water tank12
- the steamer insert23
- the measuring beaker24
- the rice spoon22
- the soup spoon21
12.3 Cleaning the housing
and power cable
The base unit13, the lid5 and the mains
power cable11 are cleaned as follows:
1. Wipe these parts clean using a damp
cloth (with a little detergent if neces-
sary).
2. Dry all parts completely before you use
the device again.
3. Pay particular attention to the recesses
on the external rim of the base unit13
and inside the lid5.
12.4 Checking and cleaning
valves
The lid contains two valves, which must al-
ways be clean and move freely. They must
be open and unblocked. Always check
the valves during cleaning!
Pressure indicator19
Check the underside of the pressure in-
dicator27 on the underside of the
lid5. The pressure indicator19 must
move freely, and must not be soiled
(e.g. with food residues).
NOTE: if the pressure indicator19 /27
ever becomes soiled with stubborn dirt,
clean it under running water with a small
brush.
