12. Cleaning and
storage
Clean the device prior to its first use!

and mains plug11 must not be im-
mersed in water or other liquids.

~ Pull the mains plug11 out of the wall
socket before you clean the device.
DANGER! Risk of injury from

~ Wait for the device to cool down before
cleaning.
WARNING! Risk of material damage!
~ Do not clean using sharp objects or
abrasive cleaning agents.
• Clean the device after each use and re-
move all food residues.
12.1 Disassembling the
device
1. Pull the mains plug11 out of the wall
socket and allow the device to cool.
2. Pull the mains power cable11 out of
the port14 in the base unit13.
3. Remove the lid5 from the device.
4. Figure A: pull strongly to remove the
sealing ring25 from the underside of
the lid5.
5. Remove the pot7 from the base
unit13.
6. Pull the condensed water tank12 out
of the holder18.
12.2 Cleaning accessories in
the dishwasher
The following accessories can be cleaned in
the dishwasher:
- the pot7
- the sealing ring25
- the condensed water tank12
- the steamer insert23
- the measuring beaker24
- the rice spoon22
- the soup spoon21
12.3 Cleaning the housing
and power cable
The base unit13, the lid5 and the mains
power cable11 are cleaned as follows:
1. Wipe these parts clean using a damp
cloth (with a little detergent if neces-
sary).
2. Dry all parts completely before you use
the device again.
3. Pay particular attention to the recesses
on the external rim of the base unit13
and inside the lid5.
12.4 Checking and cleaning
valves
The lid contains two valves, which must al-
ways be clean and move freely. They must
be open and unblocked. Always check
the valves during cleaning!
Pressure indicator19
• Check the underside of the pressure in-
dicator27 on the underside of the
lid5. The pressure indicator19 must
move freely, and must not be soiled
(e.g. with food residues).
NOTE: if the pressure indicator19 /27
ever becomes soiled with stubborn dirt,
clean it under running water with a small
brush.
