Measuring the body fat and
body water percentage
These scales work according to the B.I.A. principle,
also known as Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis.
This enables body parts to be measured within the
space of a few seconds using a non-perceivable,
completely harmless and safe current. Using this
measurement of electrical resistance (impedance)
and factoring in constants or individual values
(age, height, sex), the percentages of body fat and
body water can be determined approximately.
Entering your personal data
When you switch on the scales for the first time, the
personal information is preset as follows:
Sex: female
Height: 165 cm
Age: 25 years
The following entry areas are available:
User codes: 1–12
Sex: male/ female
Height: 100–250 cm / 3’03.5 in–8’02.5 in
Age: 10–100 years
Press the SET button

to begin setting the
user code

The user code flashes. Set the user code by
using the

buttons.
Press the SET button

to begin setting the sex.
The symbol for sex

flashes. Set the sex

buttons.
Press the SET button

Stand with two bare feet and an even distribu-
tion of weight on the electrodes

scales. The measurement result will be
displayed on the LC display

. When the
displayed weight has flashed twice, the meas-
urement is complete. Stay standing for the BIA
measurement (appears on the LC display
). The body fat percentage and body
water percentage will be displayed automati-
cally (see Fig. C).
Step off the platform. The LC display
1
will
show the time once more.
Use the following table to classify the results:
